How bad is it to go drinking on an empty stomach?

Okay so I realize it’s not the best thing for me but here’s my situation, until my paycheck comes in the mail I’ve got about 16 dollars I have literally nothing to eat in my house and what I’ve had so far for dinner is a otis spunkemeyer muffin (one of the big ones), some cheese crackers, and really I can’t find anything else that’s edible anymore in my house, oh and I had an oatmeal creme pie a couple hours ago.. Anyways I’m to broke to buy food tonight and tomorrow, but I have eaten a little so instead of spending money and eating tonight I was thinking that 1) I’ll get drunker.. 2) I’ll be able to buy food tomorrow when I need something to help my body recover. I’m just wondering if my idea is alright or if I will suffer even worse for not eating a substantial dinner.. BTW I drink regularly and I have a friend who never eats before drinking and he says he’s always fine..

Its not neccesarily bad, you just have to moniter how much you drink since theres no food in your stomach to help absorb the alcohol. Usually you would drink no more than one drink per hour to not become overy intoxicated since it takes that long for it to pass through your system, but with no food to help absorb it, your better off with a drink every two hours.

Answer #2

depends on how much you can handle, food usually soaks up some of the alcohol and holds it so it is less intense on your body at first

Answer #3

I edited the question but I have a pretty high alcohol tolerance, so I think I’ll be okay as long as I don’t pound beers to hard.. I usually can drink a couple beers an hour so I’ll just probably go slow to make sure I don’t get to drunk to quick, and I have eaten a little bit just nothing substantial..

Answer #4

Yeah, I’ll probably just kind of take it slow, as to not get drunk before I’d like too.. Thanks for the feedback!

Answer #5

hahaha, no problem :)

Answer #6

In terms of being drunk, an empty stomach gets you drunker than a full one. In terms of being bad for you, constantly drinking on an empty stomach can cause stomach ulcers and other nasty things. It’s better to eat. I personally would save the money, unless you already have the alcohol.
