Forklift vehicles are twice heavy than a normal automobile. When a pedestrian worker gets injured by a forklift vehicle, the injury would be more serious and even sometimes fatal.

Below are the precautions to avoid these major forklift accidents.

Separate the pedestrian and forklift traffic by creating selected walkways.
Incorporate the safety precautions by OSHA
Provide adequate proper training to the forklift operators.
Appropriate tools and accessories to be incorporated.
Inspection & Maintenance of forklifts & its accessories must be done regularly.
Keep a safe distance & restrictions for people entering areas where forklift operates.
Ensure the area is well streamlined and there are no obstructions.
While operating forklift use sound horn system near corners, doorways, and narrow passages.
Avoid walking near or under raised forklift forks.
Limit forklift travel speed according to the necessity.
Do not over load the forklift such way that cover-up the driver's viewing area.
Avoid driving forklift near areas where pedestrian traffic is high.
