Are there differences to Police forces in other countries?

Are there differences in police forces in other countries? I mean, is there any differences between the USA and other countries? I find other countries interesting when it comes to the law.

Answer #1

Sure - some police forces around the world do not have strict ‘use of force’ rules - anything goes.

Answer #2

Ty, the question is about Police Forces not about the U.S. Military forces at sites in Cuba or other places in the world outside of the U.S.

Answer #3

I know, I was simply pointing out a self righteous attitude is uncalled for when U.S. forces (really does them being off U.S. soil make any difference?) have been proven to use torture…

Answer #4

“Sure - some police forces around the world do not have strict ‘use of force’ rules - anything goes.”

ah amblessed… if the use of torture in the US was not found perhaps you could try and be all self-righteous… unfortunately you lost that right the minute forms of torture were allowed by the government… sorry…

Answer #5

in other countries you will get your a s s beat then thrown into jail so pretty much yeah and in mexico they wil arrest you if you don’y give them what they want

Answer #6

well I dont know about most countries but in mexico your bascally guilty untill proven innocent. Most cops are dirty and always want bribes. The US problably has the best police force.

Answer #7

Well (off topic), being off U.S. soil seems to allow many to think that U.S. forces and agents don’t have to follow the U.S. Constitution for non-U.S. citizens.

I, personally, disagree with that but the only thing that could be done is for a Constitutional Amendment that grants Constitutional protections to ANYONE under the control of the U.S. military or other agencies/agents of the United States – even when not on U.S. soil.

Answer #8

“The US problably has the best police force.”

What makes you say that?

Anyway, yes there are many differences in the police forces of various countries: recruitment, training, procedures, jurisdiction…not to mention public perceptions of the police. For example, police in Japan are very highly regarded professionals, who undergo considerable training and are often recruited from families with roots in the samurai class. Many American police do not enjoy such high regard, nor do they undergo such rigorous indoctrination.

Answer #9

Yes, they all have different laws that they find necessary.
