Answer #1

One of them has the dominate gene

Answer #2

Just like if your dad has blue eyes and your mom had brown… your most likely gonna end up with brown eyes because its the dominate gene.

Answer #3

There are dominant and recessive genes that no one can predict. People can look like one, or both of the parents because of these dominant genes. Or if a recessive gene is there, they can look completely different. It just kinda depends. Your face might look more like your mothers, but are you more alike with your father in other ways? Such as height, eye color, body type, etc.

Answer #4

It’s just the way the sections of DNA have been ‘swapped’ and fused together so with me and my sister. theres something called Meiosis. it’s a diagram which goes like. 1.Parent cell (Mom and Dad)

  1. Chromosomes make identical copies of themselves 3.Similar chromosomes pair up (example Angel said the eyes) 4.Sections of DNA get swapped (where you it determines which but you get from which parent…I got my Dads nose…my sister got my Moms)
  2. the pairs of Chromosomes divide.

Sorry If i haven’t really been clear I learnt about that last week which does explain why and how we look more alike one parent than another.

Answer #5

I read somewhere a long time ago that generally, most kids resembe their fathers rather than their mothers. I don’t know how true it is, but when I take a mental survey of all the people I know, the majority do seem to have their dads’ facial features more than their mothers’. An anthropologist suggested this was nature’s way of telling us who the father was. Interesting but I don’t know how valid it is.
