Is my lip going to grow over my piercing?

hey all, I have had my monroe piercing for 8 weeks now, its not sore, red and doesnt have the “white tag” but my lip looks like it is just about to grow over the back of the piercing, apart from that everything is fine and not sore at all, I dont want to take it out so any advice to stop it doing this would be greatly appreciated

Hi,

If the skin is trying to grow over the piercing, it’s your body’s way of rejecting it. It’s your body realizing there is a foreign object in it, and trying to expel it.

What I would suggest is to try and rotate the ring regularly. This may help.
