First of all, I know the feeling. I used to have pretty bad acne, but it’s been a lot better.

No matter what anyone tells you, your diet has NOTHING to do with it. Eating greasy foods, chocolate, or coffee has nothing to do with acne. However, drinking more water might help.

Try washing your face twice, maybe three times a day, with a good clean, unscented, uncolored soap, don’t don’t touch your face a lot–your hands are dirty, even when they look clean. If you want, buy a facial astringent from a drugstore, and try it out. If you do this, don’t use it too much, maybe only once a day at first, because they can irritate your skin, causing more pimples.

If you’d like, private message me, and maybe you can show me some pictures and I’ll have better advice. I’d like to help, since I know how much this situation sucks.

Get on the birth control called Orthotricyclene. It worked for me. I started it when I was 17 and am still on it at 26. I hardly ever get acne anymore. It cleared me up in about 2-3 months.

The best thing to do would be see a doctor. Or a dermatologist… There are other things to do to help with acne.

Alot of face washes and cremes, and even proactive- are addictive to your skin. If you skip one day, or miss a time to wash your face- then you immediately break out.

Use the most simple things on your face on a consistantly. Basis.. is a really good face bar to use- or even DOVE soap- its gentle and moisterizing. Dont sleep with makeup on.. and make sure you wash your face at least two times a day…

good luck

Have you tried Accutane? It is supposed to work for most everyone. Has a lot of side effects, though, so I would definitely use it as a last resort.

Answer #7

I know that when I was in junior high and high school, the hormones were extremely high and I had very oily skin and a problem with blackheads and breakouts. Are you drinking water on a regular basis? Also, you may want to check with your doctor on any possible changes you could make to your diet and other regimen you could try as far as getting rid of the blemishes.

Answer #8

Strong cleaners will actually make acne worse because they take so much oil out of your skin that your body automatically produces MORE oil, making it worse. What you need to do it buy a gentle cleanser and moisturize with a oil-free lotion.

Firstly using substances derived from vitamin A like retin-a or tazarotene, to reduce inflammation of the skin and to unplug pores. Retin-A can cause skin reddening at first but this is quite normal as the skin’s blood supply is improved and younger looking skin begins to appear presenting a youthful complexion. Using a product that includes zinc will also help the vitamin a function better. you can find more information at http://www.nutrition4yourskin.co.uk/
