Why does my 2 month old male kitten stare into my eyes till I look away?

Dominance thing. It should turn away because it feels uncomfortable because you should be the alpha cat.

It’s definitely not a dominance thing :P a few of my kittens have done that (as well as nibbling on chins and earlobes and wanting LOTS of cuddles) because they’re loving. They identify you as their owner and do that to tell you they love you.

Cats - very different from dogs who do use the stare down technique for dominance - actually show affection with their eyes.

Next time your cat is staring at you, try blinking slowly. Eventually, the cat will mirror this action … we cat-lovers call these “eye kisses” (=^_^=)

well they say when you star into an animals eyes its like your confronting them and saying you want to fight so it could be a dominance thing or he’s just a crazy little kitty. i never liked cats because of their freekish ways.

I read that in a cat raising thing book. could be wrong i guess. But it says when you make eye contact its like your staring them down and letting them know that your the alpha.
