Should I join the Coast Guard Reserve or the Air Force Reserve?

The main reason why I’m going is to pay for college. I’ve noticed the military benefits are way better than Scholarships given in Florida. I was thinking going to the Air Force reserve as a Still Photographer (I’m working in my associates degree in Commercial Photography and im in high school) If I don’t get that job I think I might go to the Coast Guard. The Air force base is right there in Tampa which is 2 hours away from home but I can be deployed at any time (although I was told most of the deployments are volunteer) And the coast guard is in miami which is farther away but they have a program that they wont interfere with my school so my training will be during the summer. And I read the Marine and Air force rarely give enlistment bonuses and the Coast Guards pay for your vacations.

Also I want to go to training the summer after I graduate high school and start college with my GI bill in august..would I be able to do that..would they pay for me right away?

You just need to talk with recruiters from both branches to get up to date acccurate info. Keep in mind that recruiters are “sales people” so to speak so read between the lines and get things in writing. Your chances of deployment are much greater with the Air Force, depending upon your career field.
