My son was in the Army, then joined the Marines, and now works as a local police officer. He initially went in blind about the service, and what became his initial big shock was that the day he signed on the dotted line to join… his life was not his own any longer. He became property of the Federal Goverment. That, for him, took a little bit of mental adjustment. Joining the service is very admirable and each branch now offers different things to you when you join. Just be certain that there isn’t much you want to do with your life for the next several years because you are signing off on all that when you join any branch.

Full metal jaket is funny but it isnt like boot. Im a navy recruite right now waiting to go to boot. My buddy just graduated and said its nothing like that movie. He said its fun. College is an garentee. Its called the gi bill. To chose just look at what you like best. Navy is more technical. Marines are fighting. Army is everything. Airforce you have to be reallly smart.
