Can you get athlete's foot from wearing someone else's shoes?

I wore my friends running sneakers for a few hours, and after I took them off, he laughed and told me he had athletes foot. My question is this:

Could something that grew inside his toes have burrowed into MY toes and be living inside my feet?

Answer #1

Not if you were wearing socks. How long did you wear his shoes for? Did your feet get sweaty enough for them to get wet? I wouldn’t worry. Get the foot powder and just sprinkle it in your socks for a few days, to be on the safe side.

Answer #2

yes, you can catch athletes foot from wearing other peoples footwear (IF THEY HAVE athletes foot that is!)

and you need to tell your friend he should have told you that before.

athletes foot is annoying, but you can get rid of it easily…don’t panic!

Answer #3

You seem to be really obsessed with getting Athlete’s foot.

First supergluing shoes, then supergluing your feet, now this…

Why don’t you keep your own shoes on?

Answer #4

Wow. you r really not a smart person. just kidding> Ok, yes you can get athlete’s foot. you can also buy creme or antibiotics to help heal your fungus, that you might possibly be on your feet.

P.S: DO NOT, LET ANYBODY IN THE WORLD WEAR your CLOTHES OR your SHOES!!

Answer #5

Yes if you’re suseptible to fungus. Some people are immune to it. However, once you get it you have it for life because fungus is ringworm. You’ll have to use a cream to keep the breakouts of itchyness and irritation away. It will be chronic once you have it.
