Welcome to Fun Advice!

I would assume that the fungus likes to live in moist places so it could transfer from his feet to his shoes then to your feet.

Answer #2

I thought one could only get athletes foot from others if they have it too. I might be wrong.

Answer #3

Athlete’s foot may be contagious from person to person, but it is not always contagious. Some are more susceptible to the fungus that causes athlete’s foot while others are more resistant. It appears though, that you are more prone to fungal skin infections than others. With that said, it is better that you avoid wearing other people’ shoes (even if it is your friend’s) because the microbes causing athlete’s foot thrive in dark and moist place, especially the shoes. Might was well address your condition immediately by applying anti-fungal treatment on your feet. You can use herbal remedies such as tea tree oil or garlic. Or, you can also use an over the counter cure such as Fungusil. Likewise, practice foot hygiene to prevent fungus from spreading to other parts of your feet.
