yellow finger nails =\

okay, so I have painted my finger nails a lot over the school year… and now that I took the polish off… they are yellow! they have been yellow for a while dew to the constant painting but everytime I get the polish off I put it back on because I can’t stand the ugly color of my nails… plus a lot of people have been asking “why are your nails yellow” I jsut told them it was a certain base color haha but really I need help!

Answer #1

after your nails get back to their usual color, consider using a base coat (clear nail polish) before a colored nail polish. this will help against the yellowing. also try to get nail polishes containing little or no formaldehyde.

hope this helps :)

Answer #2

The yellow is caused by the chemicals to give the color to the nail polish. Let your nail take a rest for a month or so, and they SHOULD go back to normal. Then, if you want to, paint your nails again, but not as much! Good luck.

Answer #3

I have the same prob im always painting my nails or I always have fake nails on needless to say my nails are in bad shape , but as for the yellow polish cuts of oxygen to nails turns them yellow but you can buy nail whitener at like walmart its like fingernail polish but it will whiten your nails

Answer #4

if you leave polish on for a long time, it can cause your nails to “yellow”…but it usually goes away in a week after letting your nails go “natural” and washing. you may have some sort of nail fungus. wouldn’t hurt to get it checked out…or even just stop by a nail salon and ask them if theyve seen anything like it.

Answer #5

it is because they did not get enough oxygen
