What is wrong with my knee?

I need advice from anyone who may have substantial knowledge in this, basically for a few years now my knee has been very dodgy, a few years back i was sat cross legged and as i went to straighten out my legs, my left leg wouldnt bend, it was stuck and stif, i had to really force i to go straight and as i did i heard a big “CLUNK” and it was as though my knee had dislocated and then gone back together again. And ever since then its happened when i cross my legs so i avoid doing so. Also last night i was in bed and as i straightened my leg the knee bone felt strange as though it had no room to bend. Im only 17 i thought this stuff only happened with old people? Lol

Sounds like either a joint or a cartlige problem, if its been going on that long you really need to see a doctor, because the longer you let a health problem go on the worse its going to get.

Yeah my mum keeps saying to go to the docter =] i will, but i just hope i wont need Knee replacement surgery or something =[ Lol thankyou :) x

Answer #3

They won’t give you replacement surgery at 17….they will use an endoscope, and probably remove some cartlage. Lots of atheletes have knee problems….so go to the Dr. and get this taken care of!!

I’m not too sure if this is what it is but it could be osgood schlatters disease. I have it in my right knee. It is a juvenile disease characterized by a bump underneath the kneecap… a boney bump directly under the knee. You usually grow out of it as you get older. Mine doesn’t bother me as much as it used to and nowadays (ugh feeling old) they have stuff that can help you. When I was affected the most they could do was immobilize my knee in a straight position. Had a cast on my leg from my seventeenth birthday. (Fun!!) If you want more info on the disease http://funadvice.com/r/3k3uckcdl3 This may not be your problem but at least it is something you can check out to rule it out.

Answer #5

It happened to me a few years ago, it lasted for about 6 months and was because of too much impact on my knees.

However, there are many things that could be wrong. I suggest speaking to a doctor. You probably only have a light infection in your knee, which usually gets solved by som anti inflammatory medicine and a lot of rest.
