What if the only thing you had was writer's block?

What if the only thing you had was writer’s block. How would you get over it, if when ever you started to write, you droped the idea and then got writers block again?

Answer #1

It always helped me to write out a favorite, already written, story, article or passage from a novel.

I don’t know why, but it works like a charm. Maybe it’s my mind being stimulated by the simple fact that I’m thinking about interesting content and writing it at the same time… whatever the reason it works for me, I’d suggest you try it yourself.

Answer #2

watch the news. a lot of the stuff that’s happening lately could make for some really good stories. go for a walk, clear your head out some. then try again. if it doesn’t work, maybe that storie just isn’t meant to be?

I am a multi- faceted artist- when I come up against an obstacle in my writing, I shift over to oil painting, or to creating a sculpture or a tomahawk. I redirect my focus in another direction. the block may last a day- or a week- sometimes longer- but eventually I get back on track.

sometimes the best route to where we are going is the “long” way around.

and sometimes talking to a “trusted friend” can get you over a writers block- someone elses perspective can point out a new direction .

Answer #4

In my experience the way to break writer’s block is to force yourself to write. It doesn’t matter if it is good or interesting just write something.

Answer #5

what do you want to write about? feelings, or events? whatever it is, look into things beyond what smacks you in the face, so to speak

being sad- what happens? what do you want to do about it? smoke, fight, kiss, punch something anger, confusion, happiness, sadness think about what builds it up the thought process that goes through your head while your feeling it

love- what does a touch feel like? when he/she holds your hand, what is it about his/her touch that makes you feel safe?

being dumped- what did they give you that you could never provide for yourself, on your own?

just think about things so much more than what you normally would do . the little things no one thinks about, thats what grabs ppls attention

as soon as you come up with a word, a sentence, scribble it down doesnt have to make sense, when you have enough words then piece it together good luck! hope I helped
