Would you say "You're Spirit Filled" ?

What does it mean to be Spirit filled according to the Holy Bible? What is the best definition? Obviously you have to be a believer first, but what’s it all about if you claim to be a follower of Yeshua (Jesus Christ) ?

If you don’t believe, how do you interpret the meaning as explained by scripture ?

Answer #1

Well according to the bible, the Holy Spirit should give you peace, and want to help others and even the possibility of a Spiritual Gift. This certainly doesnt mean that someone without a Spiritual Gift isnt spirit-filled (and I hate it when people assume that you dont believe in God because you can’t speak in tongues). I still think that if you are to become spirit-filled in a literal sense, you would definately notice it, or at least feel happy.

Occasionally we hear of people who, having lived and died in poverty, turned out to have thousands of dollars in savings. We wonder why they hoarded their wealth. But how often do we Believers not utilize our spiritual resources in Christ.

The Spirit-filled life is available to all who are believers in Jesus Christ. The Bible says that we are indwelt by God the Holy Spirit the moment we receive Christ as Savior. We are complete in Him. ^For the Spirit Himself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are-the children of God.^ Anyone who does NOT have the Holy Spirit within him/her is not in the family of God.

However, we can be indwelt by the Spirit, but not FILLED with the Spirit. A preacher friend of mine once explained it this way: the Holy Spirit can be resident in our lives but not PRESIDENT. The result of not allowing the Spirit to rule the old nature is that we may live in spiritual poverty, never reaching the full potential of what we could be in Christ.

To be filled with the Holy Spirit means to renounce the works of the flesh (the Believer’s old nature) and trust Christ to produce the fruit of His Spirit in us.

The Bible defines the works of the flesh as adultery, fornication, lasciviousness, (lust), idolatry, sorcery, hatred, strife, jealousy, (quarreling), wrath, factions, sedition’s, heresies, murders, drunkeness, revelings, ^and the like^

But as we DAILY allow the Spirit to empower us, the works of the flesh can be replaced by the fruit of the Spirit which is love, joy, peace, long-suffering (patience), kindness, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, self control.

As someone once said: the problem with ^living sacrifices^ is that they keep crawling off the altar! We must DAILY commit our lives to the Lord, asking His guidance and the power of His Spirit in whatever situations we face. … All Blessings

Actually “Spirit Filled” has nothing to do with religion. Religion, may or may not have anything to do with “Spirit Filled”.

There is a “Light” inside of you. IF you knew how to find it and how to “see” it, it’s there. ALL of the religions talk about it. Jesus talked a lot about it. The bible talks about it. THAT Light that is inside of you, is conscious and is consciousness.

Even science says we are filled with light. We are made of cells, which are made of molecules, which are made of atoms, and atoms are made of light. When they “cracked open” the atom (hydrogen bomb), what came out? Light!!! So, within you, is a Light.

Not just any light; but THE Light. When you see art work of Jesus, he glows. It’s called a halo, and it’s that Light shining through the skin, through the bones, and radiates out.

This Light has been called “The Face of God”. It has been said that “If all the stars came forward, to the same proximity as our Sun, this Light would be brighter than that. Because it deals with the core of a human being.”

This Light is also called “Spirit”.

I don’t care if a person is old or young, fat or thin, what color they are, what gender they are, what religion or nationality they are … when someone is “Spirit Filled” they are a JOY to be around. That Light is also Love, and Love feels wonderful, and I’m not talking this man / woman stuff, I’m talking the Real Thing! That that is breathing you loves you beyond your imaginings.

There is an old saying: “Truth is the consciousness of bliss.”

The closer you are to that Light, the more JOY in your life. The more Love in your life.

Bliss, my friend. Do you even understand what that means? Bliss!

Bliss comes from being in that Light. Joy. Happiness. Fulfillment. Contentment. Satisfaction. All come from being in that Light.

BTW, it is not the mind that can appreciate the Light. That’s the heart’s domain. You “feel” love. You “feel” happiness. You “feel” joy. You don’t “think” joy … you “feel” it. Your heart can be so filled with this Light, that it can over flow into your outer life, and in a word, that’s called “Heaven”.

I know most people “believe” heaven comes AFTER you die. Not to me. Who was it that said: “The Kingdom of Heaven is within.” and “The Kingdom of Heaven is at hand.” THAT’s my reality.

Heaven is here and now, IF you keep your focus on that Light. If not, hell is also here and now … and it’s OUR CHOICE … our Free Will … that we can be where we choose to be.

Be IN that Light. Be IN that Love.

Enjoy and celebrate!

When we believe in Jesus Christ and invite him into our life his Spirit will come into us and dwell there. This is called Spirit Filled. In this meaning I would say that I am Spirit filled.
