Her heat cycle will last a total of 21 days meaning 7 coming in (she is just swollen) 7 she is in heat (bleeding) 7 going out. 21 days she is suppose to get pregnant during the 7 days in but as with all things dealing with Mother nature she could get pregnant anytime during this cycle.

It would be a nice thing to spay her because she is so cute and why mess her up with a bunch of puppies dragging her down. She wouldn’t be so cute anymore. Heat cycles are messy too. She would be your cute puppy longer if she gets spayed.

It is about every 6 months they come into heat. Here again dogs are as different as people. There is a suppose to be a certain number of days until the next heat but like people it doesn’t seem to work that way. Yours could be very different say from your friends Chi.

It’s different in frequency and length for different breeds of dogs. I’ve asked the members on the dog group here who might have a better idea of it for your chihuahua.

Also, I highly recommend that you spay your dog to prevent unwanted pregnancies. There are enough dogs out there in pounds and shelters. That way you wont have to deal with your dogs period too as she wont get it any more.
