Can women wait until they're about 5 months pregnant to get check-ups?

Answer #1

Most check-ups occur when you first find out you’re pregnant, and then not again until you’ve passed the first trimester if it’s a low-risk pregnancy. There’s no good reason to delay those check-ups … the health of mother and baby depends on them.

Answer #2

technically, yes. but they shouldnt.

Answer #3

Yes, but why would any women who gives a damn about her baby wait that long untill she has a check up?

Answer #4

but it should be okay if she cant until then right? like if she took care of herself till then and everything.

Answer #5

The first 3 months are the most crucial. She can wait but shouldnt. She should be taking prenatal vitamins for sure

Answer #6

Maintaining good health by means of a healthy diet and regular physical activity will help, but if there’s a problem with the pregnancy after the first trimester, then it could prove fatal to baby or mother and baby. It’s really not recommended … at all.

Answer #7

yes you CAN, however its not safe for the mother or the baby. you need those check ups to make sure you and the baby are both healthy and get advice on exercise, nutrition, etc. and when I say “you” I mean mothers in general :P

Answer #8

Hun, just go get checkups lol. It’s not a big deal :P

Answer #9

my friend doesnt want her mom to know until shes 5 months because her mom can force her to abort the baby, so its a pretty big deal.

Answer #10

she cant force her to abort.. nobody can force anyone to do anything. she can push for it but ur friend should say hell no

Answer #11

isnt it if shes a minor the mother can keep the baby in her custody, make her abort it or give it up? she always tells her she can if she got pregnant?

Answer #12

how can she take care of it herself? does she have a medical degree and an at home xray machine? if not then no… she has no way of taking care of it herself. is there a particular reason why she cant? has she not told her parents or something? because as a mother she needs to do whats best for the baby, not just herself anymore.

Answer #13

i said take care of herself as in eating right and everything lol her mom told her if she ever got pregnant she could legally take the baby into her custody, make her abort it/give it up so she wants to wait until shes 5 months so aborting it will be too late.. she wants to take care of her baby and take full responsibility but that wouldnt be good enough so she has her mind set on waiting?

Answer #14

Your friend has rights … her mother can’t legally force an ab0rtion on her, nor can she just take custody of the baby … she would need to prove to a court that your friend is unfit to mother the child before they would grant her custody.

Answer #15

This is why teens shouldnt have kids. No, they can’t wait. If there’s a problem, it needs to be figured out quick, plus the doctor will advise her on supplements to take, etc,.

Answer #16

uh, teens can have kids and can be parents. its only a question out of her being afraid for the baby. k.

Answer #17

yes but why its not the best choice and whoever is pregnate should tell their parents or a trusted adult for help

Answer #18

I didn’t they they COULDNT. I said they SHOULDN’T. They’re immature and SHOULDNT raise other children.

Answer #19

not every teenager is immature, I’ve seen alot of good young parents.

Answer #20

I will agree with Tyra and say that if a teenager is having unprotected sex at such a young then they are immature… however, you don’t want to hear a lecture, so to answer your question is, yes, you can wait. Technically people used to have babies and never went to the hospital….. however since it is the 21st century I’d say go. If not for her, do it for the child. The baby’s health is more important than any reason I can think of of her not going
