I haven't had a period in over 5 months, but Im not pregnant. Why?

I was recently on the birthcontrol shot, but my last shot was 9 months ago (3 month shot), Me and my husband are trying to conceve with no result. Like I said, no period. If Im not pregnant, why no period? Did the shot make me infertile, or does my body need more time to recover?

I used 2 have the shot stopped having it a week ago. I was had it 4 bout a yer and a half in that time I didnt ever have a period and now have a lump in my boob!!! im waiting 4 ma period but just not cummin!!

My best friend used to get the shot and it took her over a year to get her period. After she did get it once it took about 5 months to get it again. It’s very common to not have a normal cycle after you quit getting the shot…normally it’s not recommended for women that want to have kids soon.

Talk to your doctor, other than that the only thing you can do is wait. You’re not infertile it just really messes with your hormones.

For some, Its a year. other Can take up to 3. Consult your doctor. Every body is differet. I’ve know people to become pregnat 4 months after the shot wore off. I’ve been off the shot for 8 months now, with no results. I have’nt even had a menstile cycle since I began the shot 2 years ago. Good Luck to you…
