Will my cats be ok?

I’m moving in 2 weeks from Florida to Denver Colorado. I live right on the coast, which is like 5 feet above sea level and very very humid. Denver is a mile above sea level and very dry. Do you think my cats will adjust to such a dramatic change ok? I know some humans can’t even handle that… They’re both 4.

I’m living in Los Angeles, and my parents own a house just outside of Denver… we’ve taken the animals back and forth (we drive both ways… makes for a lovely road trip)

Personally I don’t have experience with CATS and changes in altitude… but it took our dogs and horses some time to adjust. Remember it will be harder to breathe, and they won’t be able to run around and play as long (initially of course) I think it depends on size… the smaller the animal, the harder it was for it to adjust. It took the horses a couple of weeks.

I’m sure your cats will be fine, just keep an eye on them. If anything, I’d be more concerned about germs they haven’t been exposed to before. If there’s anything that looks odd after a few days.. take them to a vet there.

Good luck and have fun in Denver! Very flat.. but then again, so is FL.

It may take them a little bit of time to adjust but I’m sure that they will adjust just fine. Actually the dryer air may end up being better for them then all the heat and humidity. Good luck with your move.

Answer #3

They should be ok but it might take them a while to get used to their new surroundings. Cats are very adaptable! xx
