when cats don’t eat that is not a good sign…I have always had a cat, I now have two. Over the years quite a few times this has happened to mine and there is always something wrong…usually they have a fever a sign of infection somewhere. You should take him to the vet

Your cat is fine! It sounds as if this (your cat staying out all night) is a relatively new occurrence. Cats are nocturnal animals and will generally run rampid the first few nights they are allowed out. They usually encounter other cats throughout the night and as a new cat to the outside night life they must prove themselves to the other, more familiar and otherwise formidable cats of the neighborhood. Quite often combatting more than one cat at a time which renders them physically exhausted with a significant loss in appetite. The incessant wagging signifies the cats internal level on high alert. All of which wear off in due time. Your feline will be fine, he’s simply establishing himself.

                                             Good Luck!

Does your cat have to be out at night? I know this is only an opinion (and the indoor/outdoor cat debate runs rampant…so please do not flame me, it’s only an opinion) but you risk a lot more vet bills by allowing your cat to roam free at night. They tend to get into fights, can come into contact with a whole range of diseases and depending on your area, may be attacked by wildlife (such as coyotes), not to mention being hit by a car…so…just some food for thought…:)
