How is it possible that I have better wifi connection when I'm farther away from my router?

So when I’m in my room(second floor) I get 2 bars, but when I’m in the attic(3 bars) I get better connection, ooh yea the router is in the basement.

Answer #1

Are you actually getting better connection? - probably your angle regarding obstacles like micro waves, concrete walls, etc. If you wanted to know how to get a better connection, there are boosters you can buy. (try to get the same brand as you router).

Answer #2

Depends on what is in the floors walls ceilings etc. In most buildings there are dead spots due to rebar, wiring, ‘I’ beams, etc. You might have had your antenna in a dead stop on the 2nd floor and in a good spot in the attic.
