Why would my boyfriend threaten to kill himself?

Me and my boyfriend where in a huge argument lastnight not really an arguement basically we dont want anything to tear us apart with working an friends so I said do you just want to not be together because I don’t know how were gonna work if we cant ever be without each other sometimes so he started crying so did I we grabbed each other an hugged eachother while crying an he said ill never leave you the only way ill leave you is if you leave me an he said id kill myself if you left me but I dont want you to just stay with me because of me saying that I just love you so much your all I have an I felt so badd

but he did say he would kill himself :/ and its not that cause I know girls that want to be with him that stay away now but he wouldnt be alone

He looks like the guy that really likes you, and he wants you with him. It could also be that he’s scared that he will be left alone. But there is also the possibility that he siad that with not the exact meaning of killing himself you know?
