Why won't my mom let me get a new dress for grad?

Hi, My grade 9 grad is coming up this june and my mom won’t let me get a new dress for it! I found the perfect dress already and it’s cheaper than all the other ones I wanted. She wants me to wear the dress I got for my cousin’s wedding 2 years ago and honestly, I’ve been wearing that to almost EVERY occasion ever since the wedding. Why can’t she see that I want this to be special? It makes me feel like my grad is just like any other occasion which makes me feel sad. What should I do? Do you think she’s right? Would it be wrong to go out and buy it myself without telling her?

you could, instead, buy lace and ribbon and buttons and bows and do-up your old dress?

I think that oyu should tell her before you go oout and buy the dress. I can see where both of you are coming from. You may look amazing in the other or something like that.There could also be monetarial issues that you dont know about… I think you should talk to her and tell her that you want the dress no matter what and that you will earn the money yourself if you want it that bad… be very sincere and sweet.no attitudess(:
