Why limit free speech?

I’ve been looking up laws and surprised to find laws that limit free speech. I thought the constition was to protect against such law making. I feel as though the constition has become a piece of paper. Where the meanings of the constition have become advice not strict limitations of power. The questions

Where are the stops to prevent this type censorship?

Do you think censorship of speech is good?

Why should there be limits on free speech?

Because with ANY freedom, there are those who will ABUSE it…

Offending someone is hardly a reason to limit free speech, neither is stopping people from saying something incase they may regret it (that’s really up to them…)

But there are good reasons to limit speech…

Inciting violence is one of them… you cant go around encouraging people to go hurt other people… Inciting panic leading to people getting hurt is another… e.g. yelling fire in a crowded theatre would probably lead to someone getting hurt…

why limited to the freedom of speech? -cause some people can say something that might offend someone Constition a piece of paper? -actually, back in tha day, it was very hard to get tha constition to even start.! -just be glad they forced they people that lived in the US to folllow the ‘rules cause if they didn’t the US would not be the free country that it is. -W/out it, there would be no US. people would go on a kill’n spree and start to blow up tha place! Why limits on free speech? -cuase I might say something dume and regret it later.
