Why is there a weird bump where I got my cartilage pierced?

I got 2 cartllage piercings with a gun almost 2 years ago (both on the same ear, one above the other) and now one of them has a strange, kind of hard bump. You can see it behind my ear and it’s not infected, it doesn’t hurt, and it’s not filled with puss or anything. It actually feels like part of the cartilage, but it’s just this raised bump. I decided to take my piercings out for a while and they’ve been out for about a month, maybe more, and the bump is still there. Does anyone else have this or does anyone know how to get rid of it?

I wouldnt worry about it, I had that problem before too bc I have 2 cartilage piercings one above the other on one ear & another cartilage on my other year, it might not even be infected…the gun makes them take longer to heal for some reason. you can get it checked out if you truly think you have to but I wouldnt be too worried about it, just keep cleaning it

When I had it pierced, my cousin and I got it together and we both had that. we started using bactine to clean it better and it started going down. we also used epson salt. its worth a shot.

Answer #3

Sounds like a lymph node. Run to the doctor for a quick check up. It might be infected. Don’t put any ice on it and don’t touch it.

Thanks everyone (:

Its probably just a keloid.
