Why is that my hair stays wavy even after I flat iron it?

I am native american and I have jet black wavy hair. I want to wear it like Tia & Tamara you like really straight but As soon as I flat iron it it curls/waves back up. Somebody help?

I have really coarse curly hair, and even when I spent the money to get it permanently done, as soon as I washed it it went right back to the whole curly poofy hair style. I purchased the CHI, which really works for me. But you have to be willing to spend 150 to get it, and you really need a lot of heat protection. But it works incredibly.

I think it depends on whut flat iron it is and your hair type. I got mine at sallys beauty supply and it’s a smart heat it has settings based on your hair type like it has synthetic, fine, medium, coarse like mine is really thick and fluffy so I have to use the coarse setting. also there are sprays and stuff you can put in while your straightening it. but make sure your hairs not like completly wet or too damp because it might ruin the flat iron but I usually use mine when my hair is slightly damp but mostly dry and also I part my hair useing 2 clips and start with the bottom layer 1st. any questions you can fm me or add me lol good luck! =]

Answer #5

People like tia and tamara have their hair permantly straitened its really expensive and they use lots of chemicals and stuff like that to do it .. It absolutly ruins your hair !! … your probly better off getting a curl activating conditioner for your hair to make your curls more defined because its easier to curl wavy hair than to straiten it ..

Get an Instyler it really works on all hair types! It works so well it is worth the money! You can find them on ebay pretty cheap just do not buy one from China/Japan. Also try Silk Drops, and the shine sprays work well too! Good Luck!

Answer #7

Maybe your flat iron just sucks. Do you put the top half of your hair up and straighten the bottom and then take the top half down and straighten that? That’s what I do and it works.
