Why is it Still Celebrated as the Birth of Christ?

Why is the Winter Solstice/Yule still called Christmas? Why is it still celebrated as the birth of Christ? The bible describes the event of Christ’s birth taking place in late spring or early summer. His birth was originally celebrated on the 6th of January(I know it’s not spring, so don’t bother pointing that out, I’m just dispensing the facts here). His birth was later set on Dec 25th by the Roman Catholic church, in hopes to gain more converts(his death on another pagan festival, Austria,-Easter- in celebration of the fertility Goddess), this is no secrete. How come it was never set back to the original date of celebration? I can understand the hassle it would be to change the date of the holiday, ect. But it was done before.

I hate to disagree with ya, but I’ve already seen zeitgeist, it’s complete bull. It’s the perfect illusion really, it even had me full for bout a day until I realized”… Wait a min…Ra is the sun God”. I finally regained my senses and started remembering my studies before the movie, only to realize the movie is complete bull. There are some, very few good facts. But it is not a factual movie. And calling it such would be like taking a slice of lemon pie, sticking it in a mud pie, and calling it a lemon pie. All claims in this movie are completely modern and new aged from new aged authors. It’s claims they completely just pull out of their butts. There’s no historical background in these claims, nothing backing it up, no evidence. Night and day were not a battle between good and evil, rather the sky Goddess swallowed the sun and each Day was re-bon. I re-looked at the list that were claimed to have similarities, none really did. Odin was never crucified, or reborn, same with many other Gods that were listed. Son and sun are pronounced completely different in the ancient languages. The only language in which they sound the same is English. Jesus wasn’t even born on the 25th. There is no ancient text that describes the belts to be the 3 kings ect. You also have to consider zodiacs are different for each culture. For example- look at the modern western and the Asian.. and then the Australian. The Egyptian zodiac had 13, not just 12 zodiac signs. Myths were developed to explain the events that took place in nature. Such as natural catastrophes, whether, ect. It wasn’t just formed around the zodiac. In actuality, the zodiac played a lesser key role than the movie makes out. The only culture that I can think of off the top of my head that were that obsessed with astrology were the Mayans. Don’t get me wrong, there were other cultures who involved their selves in astrology as well, but they weren’t obsessed and so blown of proportion like the movie describes.

I actually came across a good website a few weeks ago, it’s pretty interesting. It can do a better job at explaining things than I can. http://conspiracyscience.com/articles/zeitgeist/

Because Christians are too stupid and ignorant to realize that the birth of Christ (according to most religious scholars) occurred on January 6th. They simply stole the pagan holiday to try to break pagan tradition and push people against paganism (because the winter solstice celebration was recorded to have to began almost 50 years before the birth of Christ). You will come to realize how ignorant and arrogant the religious community is, this is just one example.

* The bible describes the event of Christ’s birth taking place in late spring or early summer.

This is true. The event described is actually the summer solstice. The magi are the 3 stars in the belt of Orion, which have been known as the 3 magi since ancient times. They point toward (aka ‘follow’) Sirius to the East. Around the time of the summer solstice, Sirius is right above the location of the rising sun (aka ‘the Son’) right before dawn. The birth story in the gospels is a rehashing of a similar birth story regarding Horus, and is astrotheological symbolism.

Its all astrological. Form a better understanding of it watch the first part of the Zeitgeist movie on youtube

From my experience, many christians don’t believe it wasn’t Jesus’ birthday…for another, it’s the end of the fiscal year for corporations now, and you have “after christmas sales” during the final week of the year.

So financially, as Q4 makes up nearly 50% of their revenue for the entire year, it’d be a disaster to push the actual holiday into January for them…and let’s not kid ourselves, large corporate interests have far too much control over most every government in the world.

Summary, it’s just business, nothing religious, imho, for the perpetuated fiction.
