If I put an anti-virus software on my laptop will it protect me from lime wire? So im getting a laptop soon and I was woundering if I put a norton anti-virus on my laptop and if I download limewire will that norton anti-virus software work for me not to get a virus?

It will try, but ultimately not succeed.

A legitimate installation of Limewire is Ok. The problem comes when users download trojans, (You think you’re downloading one thing, you’re really downloading another.) so that when asked by the virus scanner about opening the file, most users simply click Ok.
