Why does love hurt so much?

I’ve gotten my heart broke twice now am like so in luv wit my present boyfriend and am afraid 2 open up 2 him cause am scared am gonna get hurt again…what should I do…to be able to love again?

Love is tough because you will only not get your heart broken once or twice in life. Most relationships end in a break up and only one (or potentially two or three if you get divorced) will end up working. However, if you don’t open yourself up, you will never get to the one you were meant to be with in the first place. You can’t assume your present boyfriend will act like your past boyfriends because he is a completely different person. If his ex girlfriend cheated on him, does that mean he should automatically assume you will too? It’s tough to really believe and act on that concept, but you have to eliminate those assumptions. every relationship, good and bad, teaches us things about ourselves and what we want in life.
