Why do other brand name computer get virus than the other brand?

Here are some brand name ones: Dell, hp, toshiba, sony, gateway, acer, mac, samsung… And names What im saying is does it matter what brand you get and if you do get that brand will you ctach a computer virus.? Or you will only catch it from going on infected sites and downloading software and stuff that give you viruses??

Answer #1

Hardware doesn’t do anything but click on and off a million little switches and send electricity to other parts of the hardware. Its software that determines your level of security. This involves your internet security settings, any anti-virus programs you have and also your router settings. Don’t confuse hardware and software dude.

Answer #2

brand as a whole has nothing to do with how secure your computer is…

but, you might get a free 1 year subscription to AVG with a HP and a free 1 year subscription to Norton with a dell..

this would make the HP more secure and less chance of infection than with the Dell ;)

always ask/read what the extras are your getting with it.

Answer #3

The only way to avoid a computer virus is with anti-virus software (along with firewalls and other protections built into the operating system)…

The brand of computer doesn’t matter.
