Why do my puppies eat rugs and wood?

They chew on my rugs all the time and then when they are outside they eat wood and rocks.

Because that’s what puppies do…to keep them safe, you should have alternatives around to give them, when they start chewing something they shouldn’t be chewing…alternatives like rubby toys, marrow bones, etc. When you see them eating things that aren’t good for them…take it away, gently…and offer them one of the alternatives. Rocks break teeth, and can cause blockages (the material in rugs can also cause intestinal blockages)…wood splinters. It’s your job to keep them safe.
