Why do I get scared so easily?

O.k I am the biggest baby ever b/c I get scared easily.O.k one time my mom’s friend and my mom had a plan to scare me.O.k I was watching t.v when my mom said “Can you refill the toilet paper roll?” I said “Sure.” and walked down the hall.What I didn’t know was my mom’s friend was hiding in the tub with the curtins hiding her.When I reach to the bathroom,she pulled the curtin to show herself and and screamed “Aaaahhh!!!” said “Aaaahhh!!!” and ran out.I had always been the person who almost has a heart attack when somebody walks in the room when I don’t hear them.But since then I have a feeling somebody is in the house with me(like a robber or something.) whenever I am alone.(right now for example.)So I keep looking up from my laptop and look around.Is it me or what cause I want an end to this NOW.Thanks!=)

maybe you are just a very observant person, e.g you notice a very quiet sound in your house, which others dont which may lead to you becoming slightly paranoid that someone is in your house, so maybe paranoia of something or someone attacking you or scaring you is the answer?

It was just a joke but I was terrified!I have had a past where my dad(who abused me by beating me and yelling btw)and he would sneek up behind me.And whenever it’s late at night especially I look around whenever I am alone and it’s dark.I get scared very easliy and it gets annoying.Anyways,thx!=D

I had the same problem after having a life changing experience. I was scared of everything, because of the trauma it put me through. I just kept trying to always expect the unexpected. It was hard at first and people or something would catch me off guard. But with lots of practice I’m a lot harder to scare, but I still am the butt of a good scare joke every once in a while. So just keep practicing to expect the unexpected! Good Luck!!
