Why can I not see my hymen any more could I have been violated ?

As a teenager I checked for my hymen with a mirror, fearing my Swedish Protestant mother could have scrubbed it away by accident when I was a little girl, but I saw a membrane with an orifice. In my twenties, as I might have nipple cancer, I also checked the other area with a mirror and saw a membrane with a tiny serriform opening covering a somewhat protuberant beginning of the tract - I used, perhaps unwisely to strain with heavy, and obstructed-feeling periods. Throughout I did heavy work and this had no effect on the hymen whenever I checked it with a mirror.

Later I feared intrusions in my home and possibly having been violated when asleep or almost unconscious, I am not sure whether apprehension in sleep of something dangerous, inconceivably evil and filthy might not induce unconsciousness. I was used to possibly cancer-induced belly aches, and sleep through almost any pain except extreme toothaches induced by reaction to exposure to certain chemical toxins, so probably I would even sleep through violation. Now when I check for my hymen with a mirror (I am already 32) I only see a mouth-like opening over 5 mm grey at one edge with protuberances, and horizontal with a straight cut-like smooth fleshy edge at the other. Could I have been violated, please answer me urgently as this is extremely important to me. The hymen is a sign of how important it is to choose the first man due to the possibility of child-bearing, for this is not something one would be prepared to commit oneself to for just anyone. To prevent this is essentially to pervert nature. I never found that Man, and would be horrified to find this proof of steadfastness and serious commitment destroyed not to mention that violation means defilement not only of the woman but also of the offspring. Please answer me urgently.

I’m sorry to say that there is a possibility that you may have been violated in your sleep or while you were unconscious, based on what your saying – there is a chance. If it helps any, you can still have your hymen surgically repaired.

The real concern I have is that you seem to be taking this hymen issue out of proportion. While the hymen ‘’was’’ commonly used to identify the virginity of a women, it’s been dis-proven due to the fact that some girls aren’t even born with hymens and some girls lose it due to sports such as horseback riding. If a man doesn’t want to believe that you’re a virgin because you don’t have a hymen then he isn’t worthy of your time. You know yourself that you’re a virgin and a man should value that. Even if you were violated, this doesn’t hinder your chances at being committed to a man nor does it hinder your virginity from my perspective.

You did not accept the person that entered you, therefore I would say that it is illegitimate. Even if it didn’t happen and your hymen was simply tearing up due to physical activity then I wouldn’t understand why a man would not want to be with you because of some silly flesh of skin.

Hope this helps.

Your hymen can break due to anything. Gymnastics, horse riding, lots of sports or just being an active kid. doing the splits can break it too.

If you don’t have one, it dosent mean you were sexually assaulted or anything, it just means you don’t have one due to it just breaking ages ago by itself.

your hymen has NOTHING to do with your virginity there are many things that can break a hymen some women are even born without one and it also gets broken by things like masturbating, fingers, sex toys, tampons, horse riding, bicycle riding, aggressive sports and exercise so your hymen can be broken long before you have sex for the first time you are only not a virgin once a male penis enters your vagina loosing your hymen doesnt mean your no longer a virgin unless you had sex at 32 the possibility that your hymen was broken long ago is extreemly likley most men cant tell wethre your hymen is there or not anyway but as I said, your hymen was ost likley broken by soemthing like exerscise
