Why are some people against gays because of the bible or religion?

It seems to me that 1 people have taken the bible way out of context. and 2 if they were true christians they wouldnt attack the gays rather teach them and show them love. God is love. and as christians (since I am one) we are suppost to love. I do not agree with gays but I do not hate them. And God is also perfect, if God wanted people born gay then how would we still be here? he made man and woman to be together for a reason. God did not create gay, homosexuality is sin from the devil. It is against the bible to be gay but that doesnt mean God hates you or disowns you. God loves all gays and wants the best for them, and homosexuality is a sin, God hates sin, not the sinner. Which I belileve is where people are getting out of hands. they are putting gods hate toward the sin to just the homosexuals, which is completely wrong. You will not get to heaven if you are homosexual but that is not Gods plan, like I said God wants the best for us. And this is where the devil comes in and messes us up, he wants the worst for us. Which will be eventually Hell. I hope I helped some and srry its so long, this is a subject that is starting to aggrivate me, even christians in the way that they are handling it. its dissapointing to me honestly.

Ok, so! For one. Jesus never said it is wrong. Men wrote the bible. AND King James picked what would go in there to get people to follow him so he would make money. Think of it this way. There were so many peasants who believed in Jesus, he was just basically a rebel, and showed people what was suppose to be right. But the royal people hated him. He threatened them, he had so many followers. Plus, they didn’t want people to rebel like he did either. So, when I say threaten I mean, they thought he would cause problems. But anyways. Also, the bible is over 2,000 years old. Something got changed over the years of course. Plus the languages it was wrote in, there are so many words that cannot be translated into english. And, would God want myself or other LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender) people to life our lives unhappy being with the opposite sex? If so, what kind of God does that make him? And there are so many sins, and everyone of them are as bad as the other one. Plus, there are so many religions, how do we know which one is the right one? We can’t know. But the real answer to your question is because, in organized religion, everyone is taught the same thing. To me, its damn near like a cult. They teacher you what to love and what to hate, who to judge, and who to suck up to. So these people can’t really help what they have been taught to believe their whole life. Which is partially why most of those people are so narrow minded, they were taught to believe that and only that.

You can’t blame God for what other people do. Yes God created everybody but he also gave us free will. And because people have free will they can think and do whatever they want to. The Bible does say that it is wrong to be gay in a since but you have to remember that people love to take things out of context. I personally don’t have a problem with gay people I have gay friends. 1 thing that people believe is that “God made Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve.” And that’s just what people believe theres nothing you or anybody else can do about it.

Well being gay means that you have an attraction to guys. Many have s3x but the point of s3x is to reproduce. If this is done to another man then it shows one of the 7 sins, lust. Err well somewhat yes. So yeah thats why its bad.

The Bible really does condemn homosexuals. In the OT, they are condemned to death. In the NT, they’re simply forbidden from the kingdom of heaven - you are not longer obligated to kill them. So we have to decide whether this book is the real ‘word of god’, or just a silly old book written by bigoted and superstitious ancient men, with no help from any gods. You pretty much have to make that choice.

Where do people get this idea that homosexuality is caused by a hormonal imbalance? If that were true, it could be fixed. It’s not a problem, and you cant ‘fix’ it by giving people hormones. And yeah, people are bigots. They use religion but their bigotry has nothing to do with religion. They used the bible to explain their racism. That is no longer acceptable, but they did it. Bigotry will always be around. Religion is just the card that people think they can play because for some reason people think it is not acceptable to challenge a person’s religion. Oh you’re a bigot because your religion says so, ok, well then I wont argue with you because it is your religion. Never mind that your religion also talks about not judging other people. It is after all your prerogative to pick and choose what parts of your religion you choose to follow.

Yes, some form of homosexuality are created at birth, based around hormones present at the time and certain chromosomes. This is a small percentage of homosexuals those where in the case of most homosexuals its a choice. The church and all religions are not to judge. They do wrongly.

I’ve asked the same question but about other religions. if god created people, and then they go and believe and god, and then he turns around and says “ there shal not be a god before me” what happen to the other people do they go to hell? and about adam and eve considering there two babies made children, does that make us inbred>?

firstly, what the bible says was written by men, not “god” or a higher being/deity… so in essence it is subject to natural mistakes… such as this… the bible shouldnt be taken word for word… only some of its morals… and even then concequencialist morals should be placed into effect, eg, is it wrong to steal a gun, when the person you steal it from is about to kill 50 people? the bible is very much so aimed at being benign, but has failed in many respects… also, homosexuality is cause be hormonal imbalances in your brain, and if “god” created us, it is his fault some people are born that way…

religion is not the problem, it is the people that do the wrong this and blame it on their religions

even though your cousin might be born gay. it does not mean he has to follow that pathway. some murders have said they were born that way too. the Bible states thatPsalm 51:5 Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me. However, God offers us freedom from sinRomans 6:22 But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.

You also spoke about punishment. God loves us but He also punishes us just as how a loving parent will ground you for breaking a rule. or jsut how a shepherd will put a fence around a sheep to protect it from wild animals.
