Answer #1

people dont believe in GOD because they dont want to accept that they have to believe in someone they want to be free But some that dont worship or believe in GOD call themselves athiest they say that because something bad happened in therir life for example they say if GOD is real why did they let my relative die and they say they hate GOD

  1. first you cannot hate someone or something unless you believe in it therefore they cant hate GOD
  2. and they say they dont believe in GOD so if GOD does not exist your releative died on their own therefore GOD has to exist

Answer #4

“who wrote the bible.”

People. Many of them, as a matter of fact. And others edited it, modified it, compiled it, translated it, and retranslated it.

Answer #5

I don’t believe in any gods, because I’m familiar with the history of the concept, and know that it’s a myth that evolved from astrotheology and solartheology. Combined with that, there is no credible evidence of any gods in spite of millenia of looking for it.

In regards to the Bible…well, don’t believe everything you read.

Answer #6

coincidence – A striking occurrence of two or more events at one time apparently by mere chance. 2) The state or fact of occupying the same relative position or area in space. 3) A sequence of events that although accidental seems to have been planned or arranged.

Answer #7

well, everyone needs to know jesus was real thats why

the jew’s killed him!!

&& who sent jesus god did bye bc eve && adam

wanted someone to come && die in the cross for your sinns!

Answer #8

“well, then how was eve && adam creatated?”

There’s no evidence they even existed.

“who was the first person to be alive if it wasn’t god? who created us if god didn’t am so”

We evolved from ‘lower’ life forms. There was no single delimiting point at which there was a ‘first’ human being, just a slow and gradual change.

Answer #9

okay, we all know jesus died in the cross right? okayy well

if adam && eve weren’t real.. they had ot be bc they wanted someone to come down &&

die from their sin

they made && god brought jesus &&

he died for us, aren’;t I correct?

Answer #10

well, then how was eve && adam creatated? who

was the first person to be alive if it wasn’t god? who created us if god didn’t am so

confused!

Answer #11

“Therefore they simply choose to believe there is no God and then they feel a sense of freedom.”

You say that as if the only choices are lack of belief, or belief in the christian god. What about hindus, muslims, jews? Your idea of lack of belief also seems more like denial than honest disbelief - I’m guessing you can’t conceive that people actually don’t think your god exists at all. You can’t simultaneously think something doesn’t exist and be doing it just so you can break its rules.

“For if you read the Bible God restricts us only in areas that are bad. He does not restrict anything that is good. Could anyone point out any one thing that is good that God restricts?”

Masturbation. Equality amongst races. Equality between genders. Wearing of garments of mixed cloth. Eating of pork.

Answer #12

miscegenymiser, yeah, you’re right. It’s hard to comprehend. I was an atheist for a couple of years… some time before I turned 25. I didnt believe in anything bigger than myself.

I dont follow any religion, but now I can accept that there are things unknown to us, and something much bigger created us, whatever it is, it’s bigger than us. You can have spirituality without declaring you’re a member of any religion, and I wonder if thats what most atheists miss.

Answer #13

first of all there is a god to be exact there is no such thing as a coincidence. he does these things because he wants us to know that he is there. all I know is that nothing is wrong with not believing in god but you’ll have to answer for it in the end.

You don’t KNOW that… you simply BELIEVE that.

According to the Bible, God requires his followers to have FAITH. Faith is the belief without knowing. You cannot have faith AND know he exists.

Answer #14

**Where in the bible does it say you cannot use profane language or be rude? Where does it say its a sin? And according to the bible, which words in particular does God consider profane

The Bible is not a book of rules. Some things are said directly while some are said indirectly. Jesus teaches us that forgiveness is essential. From this and other teachings of Jesus we know that God does not like us to be offensive to anyone. Also Mat 5:22 says “whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.” This does not mean only these two words are profabe … Raca, fool. Any language that is offensive to the listener is profane.

**You’re assuming that all homosexuals are choosing their sexual preference. Which is not correct. And there has been more than enough scandals in the religious community involving homosexuality and incest. Besides, no one sin is greater than another in God’s eyes, and ALL people are guilty of sinning, INCLUDING Christians.

It is a myth that homosexuals are born that way. Neither am I saying that a person chooses his sexual preference. A person during growing up develops a liking towards members of the same sex. But that is a sin according to the Bible. Leviticus 18:22 Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it [is] abomination. Rom 1:27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompense of their error which was meet. I do agree with you that all are sinners.

*There are more than enough BELIEVERS who HAVEN’T read the Bible, yet still believe… also preconceived, but that doesn’t mean they’re ALL that way. You generalize… which makes you incorrect.

Anyone who believes without reading the Bible properly has a blind faith and that is not proper.

If you read the Bible with no preconceived ideas will definately know God. *That in itself is a ‘preconceived idea’ …and its simply not correct. You generalize again, which makes you wrong by default.

Ok. Then read the Bible without even that preconceived idea. You will know the God.

*There IS NO PROOF that the Bible is true, and there is no PROOF that God even exists. Just as there is no PROOF that God DOESN’T exist. You need to understand the difference between ‘proof’ and ‘evidence’ that supports your BELIEFS. The Bible states that God requires Christians to ‘have faith’ …which is the ‘belief without KNOWING’

I do understand the differences between ‘evidence’ and ‘proof’. For any given situation evidences may be provided. But it is upto the person to consider the evidence as proof enough. There ARE AMPLE EVIDENCES as PROOF that the BIBLE is true. But people like you WILL NOT accept these evidences as proofs. Same goes with the existence of GOD. There ARE EVIDENCES as PROOFS. But you DON’T WANT IT. You have a wrong understanding about faith. Do you have a wife/husband or daughter/son or a friend in who you have faith? Is that believing in that person without knowing? Faith is not ‘belief without knowing’, faith is ‘knowing’. That is the faith the God requires.

*You say that as if the only choices are lack of belief, or belief in the christian god. What about hindus, muslims, jews? Your idea of lack of belief also seems more like denial than honest disbelief - I’m guessing you can’t conceive that people actually don’t think your god exists at all. You can’t simultaneously think something doesn’t exist and be doing it just so you can break its rules.

There is nothing called honest disbelief. Disbelief is when one refuses to believe in a thing. There is only one God. That God is the God of the Jews. Historical research has shown that oldest religion that existed was the Jewish religion. The oldest religious and historical record is the Jewish Torah. It is that God who came down as JESUS.

“For if you read the Bible God restricts us only in areas that are bad. He does not restrict anything that is good. Could anyone point out any one thing that is good that God restricts?” Masurbaton. Equality amongst races. Equality between genders. Wearing of garments of mixed cloth. Eating of pork.

Masurbaton - is not actually restricted Equality amongst races - No again. Equality between genders - Having equality between genders is not a good thing. God does not restrict a good thing. Wearing of garments of mixed cloth - No God does not restrict this. Eating of pork - Again God does not restrict this.

I don’t believe in god nor the devil I think it’s a bunch of B.S. to be honest and the bible is just a book a bunch of helpless people made up I don’t believe in either and never have to me it’s like how can someone believe in it?

I believe there’s good and evil but no such thing as god or the devil there isnt a higher power so high enough to have a name like god everyone in their own way is their own power and don’t need someone to be ‘their’ power now with the devil I defiantly do believe in evil just as much as good it’s everywhere but once again, it’s the people who create it and their past life and when they die there should never be names for this stuff it’s their blame weather it’s good or bad

Also I CAN”T stand the people who are like your life is miserable because you don’t have god in your life or the people who say your life is not messed up cause the devil isnt in yours let people live their own lives!!! they BELIEVE what they WANT not controlled by others sure people say sometimes what they want people to here but a few of the times it’s not actually what they believe my opinion stands strong, I don’t need a label such an atheist yes it’s a kwl word but a describing word often people think is wrong

PEOPLE THAT SAY THERE IS NO EVIDENCE IN SHOWING THA BIBLE IS REAL HASNT DONE MUCH HISTORICAL RESEARCH HUH?! BECAUSE THERES TONS OF HISTORICAL AND ARCHAEOLOGICAL PROOF THAT THA BIBLE AND THA STORIES IN THA BIBLE ARE REAL! SO BEFORE YOU WRITE SUMETHING DO YOUR RESEARCH DONT BE LAZY! LOOK AROUND YOU! HOW COULD YOU SAY GOD ISNT REAL ARE YOU BLIND!? OUR BODY’S ORGANS ARE SO COMPLEX! A BRAIN A HEART EVERYTHING BEING SO ORDERLY! WE DIDNT JUST POOF APPEAR LIKE THAT!? A TREE ITSELF AND ALL THA COMPLEX THINGS IN A TREE THAT MAKES IT BE ALIVE IS A “WOW” IN ITSELF!? IF THA EARTH WA EVEN A LITTLE BIT CLOSER TO THA SUN WE’D BURN UP AND A LITTLE BIT FURTHER WE’D FREEZE THIS UNIVERSE WAS MADE MADE MADE CREATED CREATED CREATED! THEIR HADE TO BE A INTELLIGENT DESIGNER TO DENY THAT YOUR INSULTING YOUR OWN INTELLIGENCE. SO IF THERE IS A CREATER LOOKING AT THA UNIVERSE IN A EDUCATED SCIENTIFIC PERSPECTIVE YOU WOULDNT DENY GOD ISNT REAL. SO ONCE YOU KNOW THAT GODS REAL + THA BIBLES REAL + THA DEVILS REAL + JESUS IS REAL = WHEN WE DIE WE EITHER GO TO HEAVEN OR HELL WHERE WHO WE CHOOSE TO FOLLOW DETEMINES WERE YOU WANT TO GO. FOLLOW THA WORLD LIKE EVERYONE ELSE DO what YOU WANT W/E YOU WONT HAVE LASTING JOY PEACE LOVE…ETERNAL LIFE SOMETHING TRUE TO LIVE FOR. YOU’LL BE A SLAVE TO SIN AND THA WORLD. GOD SENT HIS SON TO DIE ON THA CROSS BECAUSE HE WANTED US TO HAVE A CHANCE TO BE FREE FROM SIN HE LOVES US SO MUCH HE WAS WILLING TO SACRIFICE HIS OWN SON FOR US! JESUS WAS TORTORED REJECTED SLAUGHTERED FOR US. HE TOOK OUR SINS AND DIED FOR US SO WE WOULDNT HAVE TO DIE AFTER WE DIE DO YOU UNDERSTAND. SO WE WOULDNT HAVE ETERNAL DEATH. HE DIED FOR PEOPLE WHO HATED HIM SPIT ON HIS FACE ..REJECT HIM TODAY (2009) THA BEST WE CAN DO IS LOVE HIM AND APPRECIATE GOD AND HIS SON BY CHANGING OUR LIVES AROUND AND ITS NOT LIKE YOUR CHANGING YOUR LIFE AROUND FOR THA WORST PEOPLE THINK YOU BECOME A SLAVE OR BRAINWASHED AND ORING when YOUR A CHRISTIAN THATS NOT TRUE! YOU KNOW YOUR PURPOSE IN LIFE YOU SPEND MORE TIME WITH GOD, DEVOTIONS PRAYING…HE’LL SHOW YOU YOUR CALLING (CAREER) YOU’LL FEEL ASSURENCE THAT YOU’LL BE IN HEAVEN WHEN YOU DIE NOT BURNING AND BEING TORTURED IN HELL. FOR EXAMPLE: PICTURE YOUR A OWNER OF A DOG YOU LOVE SO MUCH THIS DOG TO YOU MEANS THA WORLD. YOU TAKE CARE OF THIS DOG AND HIS NEEDS. BUT YOU GO FOR A WALK AND THERES CARS WIZZING BY. THA DOG WANTS TO CHASE THA CARS BUT YOU KEEP HOLDING ON TO THAT LEASH YOU TELL THA DOG “STOP YOU’LL GET HURT TRUST ME” BUT THA DOG GROWLS AT YOU LIKE TO SAY “WELL I WANT TO” BUT YOU KNOW WUTS BEST YOUR SMARTER THAN A DOG YOU KNOW HE’LL RUN TO HIS OWN DESTRUCTION. FINALLY AFTER STRUGGLING AND PLEADING FOR YOUR DOG TO SETTLE DOWN YOUR DOG BITES YOU HARD AND YOU LET GO HE RUNS HE LOOKS LIKE HES HAVING FUN UNTILL A TRUCK COMES BY AND CRUSHES HIS BODY. THATS PEOPLE AND GOD GODS PUNISHMENT TO US IS LETTING US HAVE what WE WANT! HE WANTS TO PROTECT US AND LOVE US AND HE KNOWS WUTS BEST HES 325632 TIMES SMARTER THAN US MAN DOESNT KNOW HOW TO MAKE PEOPLE OUT OF THIN AIR OR ANIMALS OR PLANETS OR STARS. SURE WERE TRYING TO CLONE BUT ITS NOT THA SAME. WE NEED GODS HEALTHY GUIDENCE JUST LIKE A CHILD NEEDS PARENTS. ITS SILLY TO THINK YOU CAN DO IT ON YOUR OWN. NEWS FLASH YOU CANT.

Answer #29

“It is a myth that homosexuals are born that way. “

Ah, now you’re making a testable claim. Evidence, please, that homosexuality is not genetic or developmental. Or perhaps just explain how it can be a ‘sin’ yet something that happens frequently in the animal kingdom.

“I do understand the differences between ‘evidence’ and ‘proof’. For any given situation evidences may be provided. But it is upto the person to consider the evidence as proof enough. There ARE AMPLE EVIDENCES as PROOF that the BIBLE is true.”

No, ‘proof’ is being able to demonstrate the validity of something to someone else without requiring them to already agree with you. I can prove that the sum of the squares of the short sides of a right-angle triangle is equal to the square of the hypotenuse. I can prove that the acceleration due to gravity on earth is approximately 9.8 meters per second per second. I can prove that carbon monoxide inhibits the ability of red blood cells to carry oxygen. All of these are proofs, because they do not require that the person I’m proving it to already accept that I’m correct.

“There is nothing called honest disbelief. Disbelief is when one refuses to believe in a thing. “

No, disbelief is the lack of belief in something. The idea of ‘refusing’ to believe in something is nonsense - if you don’t believe the thing exists, then what or who are you refusing?

“There is only one God. That God is the God of the Jews. Historical research has shown that oldest religion that existed was the Jewish religion.”

Er, no it hasn’t. Paganism and Zoroastrianism, for example, both predate Judaism substantially.

“The oldest religious and historical record is the Jewish Torah.”

No it’s not. There are many documents that predate the Torah - at least in terms of when it was written, not when it claims the events took place.

“Equality between genders - Having equality between genders is not a good thing. “

So you’d agree with these statements from the bible?

“Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.” – Genesis 3:16 “Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.” - Ephesians 5:24 “But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.” - 1 Timothy 2:12

“Wearing of garments of mixed cloth - No God does not restrict this. “ “Thou shalt not wear a garment of divers sorts, as of woollen and linen together.” - Deuteronomy 22:11

“Eating of pork - Again God does not restrict this.” “Nevertheless, these shall ye not eat, of them that chew the cud or of them that divide the cloven hoof; as the camel and the hare, and the coney; for they chew the cud, but divide not the hoof; therefore, they are unclean unto you. And the swine, because it divideth the hoof, yet cheweth not the cud, it is unclean unto you; ye shall not eat of their flesh, nor touch their dead carcass. – Deuteronomy 14:7-8”

Answer #30

I don’t believe in god because there’s no evidence for one, and no good reason to assume one exists.

As for what I do believe in: I believe in the ability of humans to make sense of the world around them; in our ability to construct models that predict how the world works, and in our ability to use that knowledge to improve our lives.

I believe that we’re rational beings capable of thought and reasoning independent of any deity dictating to us what to think. I believe that as rational beings, we can agree on a set of ethical principles that allow us to live with one another peacefully, without relying on divine fiat.

I believe that every one of us has a duty to leave the world slightly better for those who come after us. That last one is purely my opinion, though. :)

“the people that don’t believe in god do they believe In The devil?”

I don’t think there are any people who believe in the devil but not in (a) god, since the devil is usually portrayed in opposition to the christian god. They might not worship the christian god, but presumably to think the devil exists, they must also think that god exists.

Answer #31

people that dont belive are blind having eyes they cant see and ears they cant hear the good news is that jesus is not willing that any should perish but all should come to repentence one thing I know god is real

Answer #32

Why would someone who doesn’t believe in your God automatically believe in the Devil? Both are equally ridiculous ideas. A man in the clouds; a man in a dark, fiery place. We have zero reason to believe either of those things, and contrary to popular belief, the Bible is not a reason. That’s like saying “no, fairies DO exist, it says so in this fairytale”!

Answer #33

ok mzsuperstar012 name 5 miracles that ACTUALLY happened that theres proof for… dont give me like… “birth” or some bullshit like that cause you dont have anything real… jesus might have existed and died on the cross, but theres no proof that theres actually a god.

Answer #34

I would disagree. Faith is the belief in something that cannot be seen.

Your definition of ‘faith’ is incorrect…

one thing I know god is real

No… you don’t… you BELIEVE…

Answer #35

because they are ignorant

I could say the same about those who discriminate against atheists. Ignorance is the result of being blind to, or rejecting facts.

For me, I don’t believe in God because I have never seen any undeniable evidence that he/she exists, and plenty of it is debunked by undeniable scientific evidence. Science is a means of explaining things backed up by evidence, whereas, to me, belief in God and the Devil is not different to believing in Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny or the Tooth Fairy. Other people can believe in them as they wish, just as I choose not to.

Answer #36

I dont think many people that dont believe in god believe in the devil. that dont make sense?? I believe in both lol :)

Answer #37

They want the freedom to use any type of language when they speak to anyone - it could be filthy or rude. If you believe in God then this is not allowed because it is a sin. That restricts their freedom.

Where in the bible does it say you cannot use profane language or be rude? Where does it say its a sin? And according to the bible, which words in particular does God consider profane?

Similarly they want do filth things like freedom of sexual preference. They want to be free to choose their sexual preference like homosexual, incest, etc. Again believing in God restricts that freedom.

You’re assuming that all homosexuals are choosing their sexual preference. Which is not correct. And there has been more than enough scandals in the religious community involving homosexuality and incest. Besides, no one sin is greater than another in God’s eyes, and ALL people are guilty of sinning, INCLUDING Christians.

Therefore they simply choose to believe there is no God and then they feel a sense of freedom. For if you read the Bible God restricts us only in areas that are bad. He does not restrict anything that is good. Could anyone point out any one thing that is good that God restricts?

I don’t view God as restricting ANYTHING… since a person can always be forgiven.

Some people claim that they have read the Bible completely and yet do not believe in a God. This only show that they have read the Bible with a preconceived idea.

There are more than enough BELIEVERS who HAVEN’T read the Bible, yet still believe… also preconceived, but that doesn’t mean they’re ALL that way. You generalize… which makes you incorrect.

If you read the Bible with no preconceived ideas will definately know God.

That in itself is a ‘preconceived idea’ …and its simply not correct. You generalize again, which makes you wrong by default.

Some have also said that Bible is not proof enough for them. Those people have no intention of accepting any proof that is given to them. So why do these waste time asking for proofs.

There IS NO PROOF that the Bible is true, and there is no PROOF that God even exists. Just as there is no PROOF that God DOESN’T exist. You need to understand the difference between ‘proof’ and ‘evidence’ that supports your BELIEFS. The Bible states that God requires Christians to ‘have faith’ …which is the ‘belief without KNOWING’

Answer #38

the simple fact of the matter is that in the science world we live in, you dont have to prove something doesnt exist - you only have to prove it does. which lets be honest hasnt and most likely never will happen when it comes to god/the bible. in my opinion any true word of god cannot EVER be subject to interpretation - as soon as people try to interpret true ‘gospel’ it becomes nothin more than mans own image of the ‘true’ word. and causes splits and divides, wars and inhumanities. I actually started reading the bible a couple of weeks ago for a laugh (yes thats right, it is pretty damned hilarious). and in the first chapter (and the easiest to debunk I might say)god created this then that, eventually creating the animals… then.. wait for it.. because only then did he create the trees and plants. anyone have any idea on how these animals lived without any plants to produce oxygen? lol. there are many many discrepancies in the bible that even a couple of centuries ago we didnt have the knowledge or understanding of the planet we have been given the gift to live on, to argue with. we live in a time when more than ever before we need something to unite every man woman and child on earth. that simply wont be a religion because with the exception of buddhism (with the exception of the japanese many centuries ago I might add), every major religion in the entire world has fought holy wars in their gods name. this is still happening to this day. the only true thing to unite all our people as one is science (and no I dont mean that freaky cult scientology created by a science fiction writer). I mean pure and simple facts. the way we are taught in school to look at and question everything around us. check out thevenusproject online if you want to know more about how we can evolve as human beings.

Answer #39

What is the difference between something and nothing? How was the bridge gapped? Is there something in the nothing that we can’t see? If something sprang from nothing… can something else spring from this something? Something more? Maybe a different something from the nothing? If something came from nothing… does this quality of the nothing make it a something?… perhaps someone else’s something. If this something came from a particular nothing… a nothing capable of something… are there more nothings or just one big nothing? If we can count more than one can we still call it nothing? Supposedly…it is impossible for something to become nothing… according to some physicists… and acknowledging the belief that if we lose something it becomes someone else’s… is it impossible for nothing to become something?

This is why people have trouble accepting only what is shown to them… It is a little hard to comprehend… harder to articulate.

Answer #40

I don’t believe in God or the devil.

I have my own beliefs and they work for me. I don’t believe in God because there has consistently been a failure to prove the existence of any deity, God or other.

If science can prove that God does exist, it then becomes fact, and only then will I believe. Until then, I am happily atheist and my true teacher is, and always will be, Siddhartha Guatama Buddha.

That does not make me ignorant - it makes me able to make my own conceptions.

If you are happy with your life under God, then continue being so, but do not judge me for my differing faith, as I am filled with patient acceptance, compassion, love, and respect for all people - which is more than you can say for yourself, as you sit there in judgement of all those who do not share your belief.

Answer #41

Clearly Christians can be ignorant too. Not all of them though.

“ Why, don’t people don’t believe in god?” People don’t believe in God because they choose not to. God gives us the free will to either choose or not choose to believe.

“&& the people that don’t believe in god do they believe In The devil” most people that don’t believe in God don’t believe in the Devil

I’m just curious, but what are some things that God has consistently failed in?

I’m just asking another question(I’m not trying to argue), but how come people always talk about the “terrible things” happening, but no one really says anything about the good things. Are there not good things happening at all? Is there not one good thing that we can think of. I’m sure there is.

Answer #42

You… ‘walking across a room’ …is in NO way similar, to a man being tortured to death nearly 2000 years ago. You were THERE to experience one, not the other.

Answer #43

For some seeing is believing and the word “faith” has no meaning in this matter, it’s there own choice, but if many can have faith for themselves and others, I don’t always understand why some can’t find faith in God. It may happen that he’s real, it may happen that he’s not, but either way your fate lies mostly in your own hands, he may be present, but he’s not living your life, it’s said that Jesus died for our sins, must people be so conceited that they blame their faults on God when all he does is simply allow us to live our own lives? Those who don’t believe will probably find themselves to be less dependant than those who do, but those who do will find more confidence in themselves when they believe they are being aided by a power much greater than theirs. Either way seems fine, and everyone has the chance to live their life as they wish, don’t hope for miricles, just be happy when they happen.

Answer #44

Say because the bible isn’t enough prove then..

The Bible isn’t proof at all. Its just a book. And the existence of a book doesn’t validate its content. People believe because they WANT to: some do so spite of the book’s imperfections, and some others do so while ignoring or being totally oblivious of them. There is no PROOF that God exists, and even the Bible itself supports that. When dealing with metaphysical topics, you need to understand the difference between ‘proof’ and ‘evidence that supports your beliefs.’

well, then how was eve && adam creatated?

Those are Judeo/Christian characters, and have no relevance in any discussion outside of the biblical creation story. Meaning, people who don’t believe in God, probably also don’t believe that humanity was the result of mass inbreeding.

Answer #45

if adam && eve weren’t real.. they had ot be bc they wanted someone to come down && die from their sin

You seem to have trouble grasping a reality without religious reference. You can’t ask non-believers to explain how one part of the Bible cannot be explained without the other. The non-believers don’t use ANY of the Bible, to express their views of how humanity or the universe began. The Bible has NO relevance to them whatsoever.

he died for us, aren’;t I correct?

No, that’s just what you and other Christians BELIEVE. I find there’s enough evidence for me to believe that Jesus existed (since he has a part in 5 major world religions), but there’s no evidence that he was the son of GOD. It seems more likely that he was a free-thinker, or philosopher, who could’ve indeed been crucified for what the hierarchs of the time perceived to be a religious uprising.

Answer #46

maybelmaymay, they’re correct. You’re asking questions that are from the viewpoint that the Bible is the infallible Word of God, and that Jesus is the Son of God. But nonchristians do not believe the Bible is real. Most nonChristians rely on scientific facts to prove or disprove something. And the Bible is not a science book. It does mention certain things such as the earth being round and it talks about wind currents in the air. but as for scientific proof of God and Jeus being the Son of God, the Bible will not bring any.

“Romans 1:19 and 20 They know the truth about God because he has made it obvious to them. For ever since the world has been created, people have seen the earth and hte sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities- his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God”

also we all pretty much believe Jesus died on the cross, but that’s where it stops for people. They don’t believe he rose from the dead.

“By faith we understand that the entire universe was formed at God’s command, that what we now see did not come from anything that can be seen.” Hebrews 11:3

I would disagree. Faith is the belief in something that cannot be seen. That doesn’t mean that one cannot know. Unless you believe that one cannot know…but then that’s having faith that there is nothing, which no one can know for sure either. One also has to have faith in evolution or big bang or anything like that. It’s all a matter of choosing what you have faith in.

to answer bloodpool: first of all there is a god because have you ever thought of ,before posting your response, of miracles that happen around us. no it’s not a coincidence. to be exact there is no such thing as a coincidence. god is real as the sun, moon, and stars. as you and me. and the reason why the “terible” (correct english please, terrible) things happen is because he wants them to happen. he does these things because he wants us to know that he is there. so to answer your question “whatever doesn’t kill you, can only make you stronger!”

oh and to answer your question mablemaymay244: some people don’t believe in god because maybe they tried to ask god for something and he didn’t give them what they want or maybe they don’t believe in him because they can’t see him. o and if you don’t believe in god because he didn’t answer what you prayed for, god doesn’t work on your time, he works on his own and will answer your prayer when the time is right! all I know is that nothing is wrong with not believing in god but you’ll have to answer for it in the end. remember what jesus says: “ if you deny me in front of your friends, I shall deny you in front of my father.” if you dont believe me then here is the video that proves this theory scientifically: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o2RD4vTuPN0 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vEXGKzH0F9c

People don’t believe in God because they don’t want to. They don’t want to God because according to them God takes away their freedom. Well if we look at it this is the way it is:

  • They want the freedom to use any type of language when they speak to anyone - it could be filthy or rude. If you believe in God then this is not allowed because it is a sin. That restricts their freedom.

  • Similarly they want do filth things like freedom of sexual preference. They want to be free to choose their sexual preference like homosexual, incest, etc. Again believing in God restricts that freedom.

Therefore they simply choose to believe there is no God and then they feel a sense of freedom. For if you read the Bible God restricts us only in areas that are bad. He does not restrict anything that is good. Could anyone point out any one thing that is good that God restricts? If that is so why are they offended with God.

Some people claim that they have read the Bible completely and yet do not believe in a God. This only show that they have read the Bible with a preconceived idea. If you read the Bible with no preconceived ideas will definately know God.

Some have also said that Bible is not proof enough for them. Those people have no intention of accepting any proof that is given to them. So why do these waste time asking for proofs.

NOW ALL THESE PEOPLE ARE GOING TO PROVE ME RIGHT BY JUMPING ON ME WIH FOUL LANGUAGE

“okay, we all know jesus died in the cross right? “

No, we don’t. That’s another part of christian theology that there’s no evidence for. Jesus may or may not have existed (there’s scarce evidence), if he existed it’s quite possible he was a charismatic and impressive figure as described in the bible, but there’s no evidence that he was the “son of god” or otherwise the personification of a deity. In fact, stories very similar to that of Jesus’ death and resurrection can be found in many religions predating christianity.

You assume too much That if one doesn’t worship God he must be worshiping the devil That adam and eve existed That jesus die for our sin These are all because you can’t seen to grasp that there are other religions and beliefs that don’t follow the bible at all. All these assumption are found only in the bible and no where else in history.

In truth there is no real proof of God. The bible is a bunch of testimonies that have been told and retold, written and rewritten, and added to. And taken form for 2000 years. Sorry I don’t put much stock in it.

yeah I do agree with you there. I have previously posted that reply to a similar question but as it doesnt show up when I enter the page ( I dont know why) I came to the conclusion that it hadnt actually posted. therefore I posted it here.

Some people don’t believe in God for the same reason as “arachnid” said. Some say if God is such a good person than, why isn’t there peace in the world? God is suppose to bring happiness and stuff. Not sadness and the war in this world. And they say he’s powerful and answers all prayers in this world, but people don’t believe in him because this world is not full of peace and love and he might answer prayers but he sure isn’t the God I thought he was when I was little. I Believe in God and was raised as an Evangelist (who spread the word of God) but I go to church once a year or so. I believe in God and sometimes I think, if he really loved us, why doesn’t he bring peace and love to this world? Did he abandon us? or does he just not exist? This is what I believe sometimes. But , I’m not saying I need proof and I’ll believe but sometimes I do wonder if he really does exist and if he really does watch over us. If so, why so much violence in the world?
