Who's in charge of the US Military?

WHY SEND TROOPS TO IRAC ? WHAT HAVE WE ACOMPLISHED? WHY CANT OUR TROOPS EVER REALLY HELP THOSE WHO ARE ASKING FOR IT?

Answer #1

and its not fair we are not changing iraq

I have to take issue with you on this. We ARE changing Iraq, for the better. You just won’t see it reported in the news. When I was there, Air Force and Army medics provided polio vaccinations to thousands of children who were left with nothing under Hussein. If you spent any time in Baghdad, you’d know that there is now a vibrant free press there with newspapers that publish a range of opinions; under Hussein, the media was loyal to the state. I know of schools built in rural places where children previously had no hope of getting a good education. And despite what you may hear from our own biased news networks, the Iraqi military is receiving some excellent training and is developing rapidly, in some ways beyond what it was under Hussein (especially in air defense and air support).

I know quite a few people who were injured over there and even some that died, and I can tell you that the last thing on their mind was how their hard work was going to provide oil at a cheap price for the US economy. So spare me the nice little conspiracy theories that don’t have a shred of evidence to back them up. This war is NOT about oil.

Answer #2

no. this is not just about oil, its about one crazy man with to much money ,power, and ‘most importantly to much time on his hands! who preyed on the fears of ths us citizens, and rushed such an under thought war scam! so sorry if I push the wrong button but come on! you people believe this you really believe what they are telling you . do you really think this war has done any good for ethier sides? NO!! iraq is still crazy killing each other , killing us . hell their even killing theirselves. and its all for the oil. and im am rich lol come on people think if if was really about the oil , oil that everyone needs not just the us but the world. dont you think others would follow suite ? why is it only we want to help iraq, oand help ourselves to the awsome oils. because this is’nt about oil oil is just the cover story . the story the bigg boys tell you to keep you from looking a little deeper in that story .maybe if you would stop lisening and find out on your own know facts before you comment some one’s opinion. and just because you dont like my opinoin KINGOFPOP- does not make me any less intelligent. just more confident that I must of rattled you a lil or else you would’nt of made a tacky statement

Answer #3

the main reason to do that is to scare other countries who are thing of doing some harm to the Us if you want to be strong you have to be like a Bully treat other countries like crap who can,t stand up for them selves and clam that they are superior than you

Answer #4

Of course it is about oil. Oil is a stretegic resource and we have done little to free ourselves from our dependancy on it. Also our economy largely depends on cheap oil to function. When oil is cheap our economy booms when oil is expensive our economy tanks. Several neo-cons wanted to flood the world with cheap Iraqi oil driving the price down and bringing about a economic boom. Until 9/11 they had no way to sell this kind of war to the American public. It seems their plan wasn’t as easy as they thought. They thought that as soon as Hussein was out of the way things would be peachy but occupying Iraq turned out to be a lot more difficult and expensive than they bargained and Iraqi post-war oil production hasn’t even met pre-war production under sanctions.

The smart thing for to have done after the 1970’s oil embargo would have been to work toward no longer being dependant on imported oil in a few decades. If we had the forsight to do this we would be far better off today.

Answer #5

Why Send troops over there? It’s better than fighting them over here. if you do some real studying you will find we are helping over there. More homes have electricity than before more children are in public schools than ever the living standard has raised for a majority over there and People are actually safer over there and over here. I spoke with a cousin who had been stationed in Bagdad for over 2 years ( Asked to return.) and we had a long talk before I posted this. I ( As many others.) would love to see this fight over. But I also want to see it complete, If we don’t complete it, it will only get worse. Plus we need to stablize Iraq as a safe guard from Iran. There’s a lot more to it than just pulling out, that will solve nothing. And As for the oil. All money for the oil goes to the people of Iraq and We don’t get a cent of it. this is a researched answer. We are doing more good than the Media would have you believe.

Answer #6

wow the person on top has to be the dumbest person ever. you say its not about oil but you didnt say what it was about either, yes this war is about oil. bush owns mad oil plants or w/e theyre called as for other countries not going to iraq for oil, its because no other country has bush for president. WHAT DEEPER STORY ARE you TALKING ABOUT dudes makin it seem like theres some big secret.

Answer #7

You “can’t argue nay more than that” because you really have nothing intelligent to say at all, which is why you’re resorting to personal attacks.

Answer #8

king of pop, you’re so full of it. iraq is not better.

I can’t argue nay more than that with a michael jackson fan because you are either depraved or in a fantasy world or both.

Answer #9

its all about the oil, we need to make sure we will have oil in the future. Sadam sure as hell wasn’t going to give us any. But think about in 20 years what the price of gas will be. And then think about how much it would be if we did not have our good friends in Iraq.

Answer #10

Congress gave President George W Bush authority to send troops into Iraq. Many lawmakers felt they had to give Bush this authority so that we could put more pressure on Saddam Hussein to allow inspections and Bush promised that he would only use force as a last resort. As soon as he had this authority he rushed into war using cooked intelligence that Saddam still had a big stockpile of weopons of mass destruction and that Iraq supported Al Qaeda (neither of which were true). The corporately owned American media never really questioned any of this and anyone who disagreed with the administration was quickly labeled as traitors and helping terrorists which silenced all but the bravest critics.

Answer #11

after reviewing some of you’r answers I feel you have all misses my point at least one of you got what I ment its all about money and control. and its not fair we are not changing iraq. they didnt ask for our help. and as stupied as it sounds I can’t believe people believe that the money we spend on gas is going to iraq. ha fat chance. then why is our gas companys and employees so *ing rich off our hard earned money. I strongly believe our us services could be used and frankly more appreciated eleswhere.

Answer #12

As soon as he had this authority he rushed into war using cooked intelligence that Saddam still had a big stockpile of weopons of mass destruction and that Iraq supported Al Qaeda According to my cousin who was stationed in bagdad and 3 others I know who were stationed in Iraq. . . . They were found and the Media choose to ignore them as if they did not exist. thank you CNN, NBC and the BBC.

Answer #13

Oil. . . . . . China has more than tripled the number of vehicles owned in the last 10 years. . . It’s called supply and demand. . . The number one nation we ( US) Imports oil from is Mexico. . . Maybe you should ask why aren’t things getting better in Mexico. Most American oil is exported in order to make bigger profits on the world market. And Kingofpop. . . . Respect to you and thank you. what unit were you with?

Answer #14

Because there’s no money in helping, except helping ourselves to oil.
