Who knows if I have to give a month notice in my job?

Who knows if I have to give a month notice in my job or can I just hand it in on that day and leave? I hate it there I’ve been on the sick for a month! Help!

The standard time to give an employer is two weeks notice. This is the professional and curteous thing to do. In this economy I hope that you think long and hard about how difficult it may be to find another job, why do you hate this job? Could the problem be fixed by an open and honest discussion with your boss or supervisor? Whatever you ultimately decide, you want to leave with the best feelings possible between you and your employer. You will need their good reference. Good luck to you.
