Where do you recover from anorexia??

when you are recovering from anorexia do you have to go to a rehab? or an eating disorder centre or something or can you be recovering at home???

Answer #1

you have different options depending on your financial situation, what financial aid you choose to seek, and the severity of your case.

the biggest thing about recovering at home is the temptation to return to the disorder. the upside of rehabs and clinics is the 24/7 monitoring.

the best way to find a rehab or clinic in your area is by asking your physician.

what they will be working toward in that clinic is you reaching a state of mind where you will be able to return home and continue outpatient treatment so that you still have accountability, yet begin to take care of your eating by yourself.

the most important thing is that you move at the speed that is right for you. it’s better that it takes a long time than that you relapse and have to start back at step one, or continue to hurt your body even more.

There’s different methods… and sometimes it depends on how bad the disorder is… if it becomes critical, sometimes a person needs to be in a clinic so that their health can be monitored…

It honestly depends on the person and their personal choice… If they want to get help sometimes it can be done from home and that might be easier for them, or sometimes its easier being away from everyone/thing… There’s a lot more intensive therapy and that might be helpful… it just depends on the person and the situation…
