Where did oceans come from?
scientists have proved that there was oceans and water on earth 4 billion years ago. and today earth is covered by 75% water. but where did all this water come from?? I dont understand.
Well water is the chemical compound H2o and that stands for one hydrogen bond to every two oxygen bonds.Both of these chemicals are in the air/atmosphere so if that helps you out a little I don’t know =p
Earth in its Infancy had large quantites of Hydrogen and Oxygen. With the help from the heat of the Sun these combine and form water.

ok well if you look up the big bang theory it will basically tell you that vapor and chemicals came out of the volcanos that formed around the earth (these also formed with the later water to form land)so basically the vapor went up and formed clouds and then it rained for like years and that created the oceans
