When your parents yell at you?

Just now.. my parents are yelling at me for being so short. What the freak… it’s not like I want to be short. Can’t they understand it’s genetic. They think if yur active and you exercise you can grow tall. Wow yeh I’m sure. They’re both hella short too. They give me so much presure, it’s like I can’t take it anymore. Yeh.. for the past week I have been getting up early and exercising. They never say oh you look like you have grown. They think all I do is go on teh computer.

I can’t take this anymore. They don’t understand anything. My mom keeps comparing me to people. $^& $*(&#$%#!@%

Yelling @ you because your short … LoL Thats a good one :) Laugh at them next time and thank them for such great genetics. There is nothing wrong with being short. Just because your parent perceive it in a negative light doesn’t mean the rest of the world does.

Lesson 101: Parents don’t know everything.

If they think exercising will make you grow then ask them to prove it. Measure their height (stand nice and tall) have them workout for how ever long they think it takes to actually grow taller then measure their height again If they grow congratulations you just learn the secret to becoming a NBA player.

They will most likely won’t do the challenge because they know their full of BS. If they take up the challenge then work then push them to their limits and have fun doing so.

BabyAngel, you are finding out that parents are people. They don’t know everything, and they get stressed out like you and me. Exercise will help make you healthy, and good health will give you the best shot at maximizing your height, but as you say, genetics determines your maximum height. Runners, rope skippers, bicyclists, and others may look taller, but they are just skinnier. I don’t know how to tell you to handle your parents, except possibly have them talk to your family doctor. He will let them know, and as an authority figure, his word will carry more weight than either yours or mine. I think that they already know the facts and your Mom is just frustrated about other things and is finding fault when there really is none. (Sometimes parents are irrational. Sometimes we ALL are.) Stay busy with school work when you can. Work on areas that you can have an effect on. (Maybe back off a little on the computer; maybe that’s what she is concerned about and just thinks that exercise will get you away from it.)

Stay safe, Take care, and as always, Good Luck!!

I’m 25 years old and I’m only 5 feet tall. When I was younger I was in soccer and then basketball. When I was in high school I had a gym membership… but it obviously never helped me get any taller… lol. How old is your brother? My youngest is 20 and I think he’s still growing… and he doesn’t even play sports! Guys just get taller than girls no matter what…just because he’s playing sports doesn’t mean a thing. It’s all genetics. Plus, girls stop growing way before boys do.

Answer #4

awww… I understand you!! my parents keep on bugging me bout how short I am and they always thought basketball, skipping and swimming help me grow taller =S ahaha… I was like what the f*ck?? but yeaaa I snapped at them once and said that it’s not my fault that I run in a family with short people!! they stopped bugging me ever since (wel… not as much at least) I say just walk away and ignore them… and luv yourself for who you are =)

Answer #5

Just ignore then! Go into the bathroom @ lock the door. Youre parents would hate me im 16 @ 54 inchs. No ofense but youre parents sound stupid. you need to out snart them! If you dont like exersise tell them that youre going for a run.then walk round the block to @ sit there @ then bout 20 mins later walk back.

Answer #6

they remind me of my dad. the best thing to do is just keep doing what you do then they realize they wrong but wont admit and continue with your life, teres beta things to do then stress about this crap!!!

Answer #7

They could just be having a bad day, some people have a short fuse when their stress level rises. Just ignore them and walk away.

Answer #8

Well they think exercise will make human beings grow because recently my brother has been jumping rope, and apparently.. he looks taller! These guys that we know have been doing sports and they are tall now.

That’s kinda why they think that.

They won’t do it because.. they are already at the age where they can’t grow any taller.

My parents are saying, if you don’t exercise now.. the chance will be gone!.. And you’ll stay this height.

:(

I mean I know it’s not true, I’m sure I’ll grow.. just a matter of time.. right..?

Answer #9
