when can I rotate my tragus ring?

ok I got my tragus pierced on tuesday and its kinda swollen and painful to touch and I wanted to know if I was supposed to spin it when I clean it or just leave it alone and also when you thought I might be able to spin it without it hurting?

Answer #1

I would spin it whenever you want. Keep it clean, and turn it every now and then. Make sure that the ring is either gold or hypo-allergenic. Other rings may cause a reaction or encourage infection or slower healing.

Answer #2

I recently got my conch pierced (I know, not the same exact thing but pretty much) and the piercer told me not to spin or turn it. She said to just pretty much leave it alone and wash it 2-3 times a day with a mixture of 1 teaspoon of sea salt and a gallon of distilled water. Regardless of what my piercer told me, you should always follow your piercer’s advice. If you can’t remember what they told you, just call and ask.

Answer #3

they didnt tell me anything except to remind me how to clean but since I have a few other piercings they didnt even really bother with that

Answer #4

some piercers arnt very profesional and dont offer good advice for careing for it afterwards rotating/moving the pirecing actually aggrivates the area makeing it take longer to heal so its best to leave it be keep cleaning it regularly and remember the swelling is normal as its a fresh wound the swelling should go down within 3 days of getting it done

Answer #5

yay you got it done! :) haha.

I would keep it reeeally dry. like when you have a shower, dry it with the hair-dryer on cold. having moist piercings causes infections because the moisture is like a breeding ground for them. just keep it really dry but don’t wipe it with towels or anything to dry it. its better to air dry.

dont turn it all the time because turning it breaks the scabby stuff of it, and that scabby stuff is what its healing with. its like a ‘band-aid’ in a way, to help it heal itself underneath without being disturbed, every time you break the scab, it has to remodel itself again.

just wait a few weeks, and the scabby stuff will fall off by itself and then you should start turning it regularly.
