What's the best way to make a sunburn stop hurting?

I was at the beach and my back is 100% sun burnt, and it hurts! Like legs, arms, butt, chest, stomach, top of my feet, and shoulders are burnt too, but my back hurts the most, AND i work tomorrow, any tips?

Awww I really feel for you! An ice pack wrapped in a towel is soothing and will help the swelling, and you can buy cool-gel stuff from the store that might help. I used to have one (can’t remember the name sorry) that was in a clean bottle with blue liquid and you spray it on and gently rub it in. It’s really cold and helps sooth the burn. In the meantime wear light fabrics and try not to itch it! Silk is a good fabric to wear as it doesn’t irritate the burn. When you go outside for the next few days WEAR LOTS OF SUNBLOCK!!! Because burn over burn can actually legit cause 3rd degree burns. Drink lots of water as you don’t want to get heatstroke and if you start vomiting take it easy because that’s a sign of heatstroke. Stay inside for the next week. And please be more careful in the sun- the suns rays these days are different from 30 years ago when our parents could tan on summer vacation. These days it’s all radiation and really could cause cancer. Just be careful in the future. Also in a few days when you start peeling, moisturize your skin constantly to keep the peeling fresh and to ensure you don’t rip off split skin.

ALOE VERA GEL. I love that stuff. Before when I didn’t tan and burned all the time, I’d just lather the gel all over the burn and it would cool my skin down and prevent peeling. Also make sure you moisturize. I recommend using the aloe Vera gel 10-20 mins after moisturizing so you seal in the moisture also. It’s cheap too, like 8$ for a big bottle that lasts a while. Cool showers help too.

this is my lower back (which hurts the most) compared to my normal skin tone 9sorry for the but btw) Like, its so bad!

Answer #4

take a hot shower. as hot as you can stand it and when you get out use noxema on your burn. the hot water lifts the sting out and the noxema feels good on your cooling skin. i burn very easy and i swear by this remedy

Holy moly that looks painful lol AW

Answer #6

Something good from this is that next time you know what your choices are. They are either Sunblock and be pain free and return to your normal everyday life or not wearing Sunblock and be miserable for days.
