What would I need to do to continue to breastfeed after a fast ?

My daughter is 11 months old and when she turns 1 I would like to do a 10-30 day fast (only pure juice and water) I would like to continue to nurse after but I know my milk will almost/completely dry up during the fast. I guess my real question is will I be able to produce milk when Im done fasting if she suckles regularly the whole time? I also will have help taking care of my daughter that month (mom visit) so if I wanna do it its now or never.

It’s not healthy to fast while breastfeeding and if she continues to suckle your body will keep making breast milk. The best and healthiest thing for you to do would be to stop breastfeeding before you fast…it would be healthier for you and your daughter. As for after, once your body stops producing breast milk it won’t start again, so if you stop producing it while fasting then there will be no more breast milk.
