What will happen when I get my nose done?

Im getting my nose pierced soon, and I’ve always wondered if some of these rumours are as true as they seem. If the needle hits a nerve:

#1 Will the whole side of my face become paralysed?

#2 If it does hit a nerve, then if I take out the nose stud, will it heal over, and return to normal?

#3 How long does it take for the whole side of my face to sag down/ become parlysed?

Please try to answer all of these :) thanks

Uhmm unlike the above said there ARE nerve endings in your nose. Yes it’s all cartillage, but there is still nerve endings in your nasal cavity, but their control is more for mucus glands, and your palate, and not facial movement. So with that being said:

#1 Will the whole side of my face become paralysed? No it won’t. Your face will never be paralyzed due to a nose piercing, it can happen though with an eyebrow or deeper ear piercing, however, but that is still VERY rare, cause of never placement.

#2 If it does hit a nerve, then if I take out the nose stud, will it heal over, and return to normal? If it hits a nerve ending theres nothing you can do. But because of the placement of the nerve endings it’s REALLY rare to even hit it. Once a nerve is disturbed it won’t return to normal, but if you are to take your stud/ring out at any point, your nose will heal up and the hole will close, leaving you with a tiny scar.

#3 How long does it take for the whole side of my face to sag down/ become parlysed? As said above. Your face will never be paralyzed due to a nose piercing, it can happen though with an eyebrow or deeper ear piercing, however, but that is still VERY rare, cause of never placement.

As beth_liveyourlife said, it’s true. You can’t say it’s not going to get infected just ‘cause yours didn’t. I have snakebites and the left one never got infected, but the right one did twice. You just have to make sure to listen when they give you instructions for taking care of it. Be careful, and make sure not to forget about taking care of it like I did. Infections can hurt, but not always. The first time it got infected, it hurt like crazy, but the second time, not at all Lol ^^ Goodluck =3 ~Britt xx

Just to add to the first person’s comment- just because yours didn’t get infected doesn’t mean someone elses will. You can’t generalise because of your own experience it doesn’t work like that.

Also saying that “do it and you will never regret it” isn’t true either. I know many people that have had piercings and regretted them/ taken them out. It is different for everybody your experience won’t be the same as everyone else’s.

#1 Will the whole side of my face become paralysed? no, you cant paralize your nose

#2 If it does hit a nerve, then if I take out the nose stud, will it heal over, and return to normal? first off there are no nerves in your nose, just cartlidge. and if a nerve ever gets pierced, no it doesnt just heal up

#3 How long does it take for the whole side of my face to sag down/ become parlysed? that doesnt happen either, it can happen when you get your eyebrow pierced and hit the nerve in your eyebrow, causing it to droop over your face. however the chances of that happening are extreemly rare once again there are no nerves in your nose and no chances of any of the above happening to your nose
