What! Ugh opinions on parents??

Do you ever feel that parents just have kids because they screwed up their own lives and think having kids is an excuse to try again?? I mean they try to control their kids and stuff I dont wanna hear they know best like my mom hates it when I wear things she doesnt like or they try to get me to act a certain way they think I should be kids need to learn from their mistakes so parents should stop trying to prevent things. Why else would they be so controlling??

I work with teens, my opinion of parents has definitely dipped since then. I refuse to work with younger kids because then I would have to deal directly with their parents. As far as your parents are concerned, I’m sorry I’ll give you props for realizing that you would freeze if you ran away now, however, you’re going to run away in the summer to what fantasy land? You’re coming off as a bratty spoilt child. If your biggest complaints are that your parents have issues with your clothes and will not give you freedom to do whatever you want, I really have no sympathy for you. The kids I work with get beaten, sexually abused, and one was almost killed by a parent. Because of their parents they end up depressed, suicidal, with eating disorders, cutting themselves and a variety of personality disorders. Be grateful your parents care enough to know where you are all the time so that you havent lost your life to drugs, alcohol or been raped because you were out at all times. If you ran away they’d probably look for you. There are parents who wouldnt notice if their kid didnt come home for weeks. You really need to wake up and take a look around you.

Alyssa_kennyfan619, sorry mate, but you come across as a bit of a naughty, hard to manage little brat. You do have a tendency to bag both your parents on this site. kind of feel sorry for your mummy and daddy actually.

Unfortunately if parents are controlling, there is nothing much a person can do until they turn 18 and have the finances to moves out. until them, put up, shut up and learn to love your folks as one day when you do move out of out home, trust me, you will miss them like crazy.

It’s so much better to be living under the same roof as your parents and step-parents, as household chores gets done by them, you got someone to cook for you when you come back from work, or tutorials, and you don’t have to pay your living expenses, so whatever you earn, you spend it on yourself.

Answer #4

LOL, find a job first missy, then start saving money. I understand it sucks having parents or step-parents who have your best interest at heart and constantly tell you what you should be doing to make life better for yourself etc etc, the same boring lectures and hints, but it can be annoying. :)

It’s pretty expensive to move out of home, you got everyday living expenses, PLUS, rates to pay PLUS car and home insurance PLUS spending money when you go out with friends PLUS phone and internet bills…PLUS if you have mates over, you have to have foods and drinks for them too…SO START SAVING $$

My parents were a real pain and they actually have destroyed my life. My sister went into a deppression because of my mom. And I used to be so emotional over what my parents said and thought. But now my parents are gettin divorced, because they always were trying to control everything in their lifes. I would have to say most parents will be controlling and it stinks.
