What to study in college.

I want to open my own flower shop in NY in the future. What courses would I need to take in college to learn how to start my own buisness?

Talk to someone in the college that you want to go to and ask them some courses that link to your future ambition xx

Hmmm…Definetly take some business law classes, any management classes, human resources classes…ect.

I think that studying business is probably your best bet. For elective courses I would look for classes that would enhance your knowledge of flowers and the care of plants. Most business degrees will set you up with the proper courses. Keep one thing in mind. You are running a business. It doesn’t matter if it is flowers, or cars. Those theories are not different. So most of your courses are not going to be about flowers. I would also look at taking some accounting courses (more than the normal scale) so that you could keep your own books instead of hiring a CPA for that.

You can do some self learning now and figure out how to set yourself up as an LLC. You could even create your business name and create something like Flowers from birockerchick LLC. This way your ideal name is not taken.

They also have entreprenuer classes in college as well. I’d look into those. Actually you should not need a degree at all. Business courses would still be a good idea.
