What subjects do I have to be good at if I want to become a Psychotherapist...like subjects you do in school..thanks! xx
wow, gin_juice69, way to insult every therapist on the planet. To suggest that successfully guiding people through their problems is not a skill is hopelessly ignorant.
Communication skills are going to be key, so while you're in high school, be sure to focus on your writing and public speaking classes. You're going to need to slog through a lot of statistics and research classes once you hit college, too, so advanced math skills will definitely help out. Trying to tackle statistics class with only a basic math education would not be easy.
I'm not sure where you live. Different countries, different states, different requirements.
Here's a wiki entry on the field, with titles, education, salaries, etc. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mentalhealthprofessional
Have fun!
they have classes you can do and there college credits . If you have a Technology center around your area. call them and ask them if they do. Psychotherapist really just talk to people. now real skill at all. its a piece of cake. :-)
