What should I do, I think I'm in love with my bestfriend, tell him?

Well I’ve been friends with him since 3rd grade, we became like really good friends in about 5th grade, as in I tell him everything and he tells me everything. He told me before that he likes me and I told him I’d never like him anything more than a brother. Well he broke up with his girlfriend a couple of weeks ago (she was cheating and lying to him.) and I comforted him telling him he deserved better and blah blah blah. This was about the time I realized I thought I had feelings for him I mean I’m sure I probably had feelings for him before and I just didn’t realize it or I didn’t want to see it.. And we like are always jokingly telling eachother we love eachother. And people have been asking us if we’ve been dating since we were like 11 years old. And everyone thinks we’re going to get married because we’re so close, we’re always hanging out with eachother. Like sometimes he chose me over his girlfriend. Okay A lot of the time. And everybody says he ALWAYS flirts with me even though I’ve never noticed, even though I know he used to like me. I don’t know if he still does though, and that’s why I’m concerned because My mom thinks he’s madly in love with me, but I dont know, and I don’t know if I should tell him or not because I don’t want to ruin our friendship, I mean if we dated I’m SURE we’d date for a long time because we’re like perfect for eacthother. But like I don’t just want to come out and say I like you and I’ve been like trying to subtly tell him. But I want to know if he still likes me before I come out and say it. And oh. I think you guys basically get the picture, Advice please? Any is great!
