Should I carry through with my plan to propose?

my boyfriend and I have been together for 3 years and we love eachother to death.. but his parent doesn’t agree.. I plan on proposing to him on his birthday.. do you think its worth it?

Dear bombaygirl, Well I think a lot come in play here…you were both young when you met…17, probably both your first real serious relationship. Perhaps you are still both in college, maybe both living at home. If any of these are true his parents are worried for good reason. Today, people should be getting their educations, jobs and financial security before they get married. You live in a wonderful time that all is available to you and to your boyfriend. Perhaps maybe you should think about all this before jumping into marriage. Sue…good luck
