What//Should I become a model for Barbizon modeling?!?

Well a few weeks ago when I was at the mall w/my friend there was a booth for Barbizon modeling. They were having a competition/drawing kinda thing.Today, they called saying that they want me to come in for an interview. All I need to do is bring in a pic of me and out of however many girls there are, they are going to pick 30.If you get it, its a part-time job and pays 40-50 dollars an hour. My questions are- does Barbizon cost money because they never said if it cost anything? Do you think I am model material? Do you think I should do it?

Answer #1

So I went to a barbizon modeling interview and got picked on the spot but they asked for 15000 to start off so I couldnt do it. they also called me almost a year after that but I was in a bad car accident and now have a scar down my belly so I didnt want to do it. my friend also was picked and paid the money she loves it goes to photo shoot and is in teen megazines and music videos. so it all depends if you want to spend the money but if your not going to put your all into it your not going to go anywhere and it will be a waste of your money. the money is for a starter kit to train you and go to a school. and they give you tips and break you out of your shell.

Answer #2

Barbizon Modeling is about training and it costs money. It’s not bad like everyone says, its actually help a lot of people get a start. if you have never modeled or acted, its worth checking them out. There are some girls who can just walk into Ford models and get hired, but I was not one of them. I did training with another school and it gave me the tips and confidence to get up the nerve to knock on a lot of doors.

What sunshineyx3 said, they are a SCAM. You could definitely be a model, you’re really pretty. I would suggest going to modeling websites like Ford, Elite, etc. and finding out what you could do to be part of their agency. They are well known and are legit.

Answer #5

no no no! I think it’s a waste they tried to get me to do it too! they just want your money!

Answer #6

As a professional I agree that it probably wouldn’t be to financially safe to cinduct bussiness with said company after some research I had found some key points you should consider.

Note a model should NEVER EVER have to pay for any “training” or agent an agency whom charges you for there services is in fact breaking the law you should never pay any money up front when consorting with an agency or “search’.

Also you dont really even have to pay for your own pictures so if they try that it is also bull, most professionalls get free pictures by having a TFCD or TFP photoshoot which cost no money for anything, as a model you may want to look up this term as it will occur often.

Another thing is most of anything you find in a mall is crap, I’m only saying this from my own experience with mall auditions.

I wish you luck,
